January 26, 2015 Runway To Red Carpet

Julianna Margulies In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2015 SAG Awards

Julianna Margulies In Giambattista Valli Couture - 2015 SAG Awards

Julianna Margulies swept onto the red carpet of the 2015 SAG Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 25).

‘The Good Wife’ actress and SAG nominee joined the evening’s bold-colour brigade by wearing one of my favourite red-carpet hues.

The saturated cobalt-blue Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture gown was without its original, black top, which I didn’t necessarily miss. But I did long for the polished drama of the runway’s draped full skirt, which translated more clumsily on the red carpet.

A Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Jimmy Choo ‘Lucille’ black sandals and Fred Leighton jewels finished out the look.

The colour had me at hello, especially with Julianna’s jet-black locks; yet I wanted to say goodbye to the more messy silhouette of this dress from the waist down.

From the waist up, this is gorgeous (the colour is amazing on her!), but the skirt is a complete mess.

Not even the fantastic color can save this mess. This is bad from head to toe.

What has happened to her? This dress is awful as are her hair and makeup–same was true at the Globes.

+1 Agree Her face looks weird as face lift-ish…

I know I’m in a minorty, but I love it. You should’ve seen it in motion. Besides, it’s something bold and she managed to carry it very well imo. The color is fatastic and I love the puffy skirt too.

I’m so glad to see something different on her, and not black !
Too bad the fit of the dress is not as good as on the runway.
The hairstyle is not good either.. I wish to see her beautiful hair for once in a while !

I love the idea of this look but the result is bad.

    what a mess! awful.

Boring shoes, but I like the dress, designer and colour on her.

  9. easyBlake January 26, 2015 at 3:38 am #

It’s a shame they couldn’t structure the skirt the same as the runway version. This would’ve been great.

The color is pretty but that’s where it ends. There were quite a few very unflattering photos of her on the red carpet. From the slit to the cheap looking fabric.

  11. eminere January 26, 2015 at 2:53 am #

Awful awful. The fabric looks so cheap.

  12. Nicky January 26, 2015 at 2:35 am #

That skirt is a disaster. Not sure what they were going for.

  13. Valissa January 26, 2015 at 2:29 am #

I can not believe this is Giambattista Valli! It looks so cheap and poorly made…I don’t even like it on the runway. No from me.

  14. Nat39 January 26, 2015 at 1:49 am #

The skirt is a cheap-looking bulky mess while the top is too plain, the hair is awfully meh, the sandals could’ve been more inspired…this isn’t working.

An absolute mess. The bottom looks like its made of a duvet blanket, its so puffed up

Something about this is not working for me – the colour is divine and I like the top and know that she favours simple lines but the skirt is not flowing and her hair and makeup are so ageing. The severe hair is so harsh and the makeup is too stark, she is beautiful but this is not helping. Perhaps she should have worn the sequined crop top as on the runway, that looked cool.

That bottom part of dress is a complete mess and a complete no. The color is wonderful but this just doesn’t work.

  18. Alex January 26, 2015 at 1:31 am #

I love the colour, but the dress is not right.

  19. Christine January 26, 2015 at 1:30 am #

It looked 1000000000x better on the runway. It looks awful on Julianna.

Some dresses just needs to stay on the runway.

It’s a shame it failed so miserably, because the dress is stunning on the runway and I can see what drew her to it.
