Get The Look: Karolina Kurkova’s Valentino Sala Bianca 945 Braided Bun

Celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Yepez worked with Karolina Kurkova for the Valentino Sala Bianca 945 Event on Wednesday (December 10) in New York City.

Explaining her beauty inspiration, Jennifer said, “Karolina’s Valentino dress was beautiful and romantic so we wanted the hair to be modern and strong. We felt a centre part with sleek shine would work best. We also wanted something special in the back so I created a beautiful braided bun.”

Here’s how to get the look.

Jennifer began by spraying PHYTO Phytovolume Actif Volumizer Spray section by section and blew the hair dry using a Mason Pearson brush. She made sure to spray from roots to ends in order to get a better grip on the ponytail and to make the hair thicker for the braid.

Once the hair was dry, she created the centre part. She used the Mason Pearson to smooth the hair and make the ponytail, securing it with an elastic hook. Once secured, she sprayed Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray throughout the ponytail to give it volume and a bit of texture.

Next she braided the ponytail and secured it with a small elastic band. She carefully shaped the braid to Karolina’s head and used small hair pins (matching her hair colour) to pin it in place. She sprayed a bit of Kerastase Laque Couture Hairspray to tame flyaways. She also used a tail comb on the back of the braid to tuck in any loose ends and a small teasing brush (a toothbrush works well, too) to smooth the front of the hair.

The look was finished with Kerastase Touche Finale for extra shine, and she was carpet-ready.
