Nikki Reed In Versace – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Nikki Reed In Versace - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Nikki Reed attended the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (August 16) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a Versace Fall 2014 petrol-blue, bias-cut gown that not only featured a plunge neckline, but that was also slit-to-there and slashed through with netted seaming.

She styled the look with a selection of Dana Rebecca Designs earrings, EF Collection earrings and rings, and Graziela Gems rings, alongside a metallic clutch and silver sandals.

Between the slightly wrinkled satin fabric and the overwrought, ill-fitting design, this was just too much dress for Nikki, especially seeing that long train merely puddle on the ground behind her.

Those ombre waves and her sultry nude makeup would have been better served with a more well-tailored gown.

Heidi Klum In Sean Kelly – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum In Sean Kelly - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum was also at the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (August 16).

The model-host radiantly shimmied and sashayed her way down the red carpet in a striking design that was custom-made by current ‘Project Runway’ contestant Sean Kelly.

Despite what sort of ’70s-inspired dreams this dress may conjure, it’s hard to argue with its bolt of electric blue colour that amplified the event—or the all-out fun that Heidi seemed to have in wearing it.

Styled with sky-high black Jimmy Choo ‘Mariah’ heels, Lorraine Schwartz sapphire-blue jewels and a sleek half-up, half-down ’do, the textural frock did nothing if not turn heads.

Knowing how to work a dress, Heidi gave this gown the full star treatment as she spun down the carpet. I actually loved seeing it in motion, even if it was reminiscent of automatic car wash brushes.

Yay or nay?

Carrie Brownstein In Valentino – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Carrie Brownstein In Valentino - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Carrie Brownstein was joined by her ‘Portlandia’ partner in comedy, Fred Armisen, on the red carpet of the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, hosted at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (August 16).

While he was dapper in a traditional tux, she swapped a long gown for a short Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 black beaded dress.

Of course, elements of quirky personality were injected here and there, as would be fitting of the ‘Portlandia’ duo. On Fred, it was his fun statement glasses. On Carrie, the colourful feathered embellishment of the dress made a playful match to her bright-pink Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch.

She didn’t take the eccentric spin as far as the lookbook’s creeper sneakers though, wearing a more classic, event-appropriate ankle-strap heel.

This is a perfect example of polished style that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Jenny McCarthy In Stella McCartney – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Jenny McCarthy In Stella McCartney - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Jenny McCarthy returned to the scene for the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (August 16).

She accompanied her fiancé, Donnie Wahlberg, dressed in a beautiful Stella McCartney gown in a capri-blue colour that makes such an impact on the red carpet, especially when rendered with a lace bodice, graceful back cutout and long train.

Jenny brought a voluptuous, va-va-voom effect to the feminine, alluring mood of the design, emboldened further by her voluminous blonde waves and big statement earrings.

You may remember that Shailene Woodley wore the same Stella dress at the ‘Divergent’ London premiere earlier this year, and I still favour the statuesque sophistication and youthful simplicity she brought to the dress.

Bellamy Young In Naeem Khan – 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Bellamy Young In Naeem Khan Fall 2014 - 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Bellamy Young attended the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, hosted at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (August 16).

The ‘Scandal’ star made a glamorous showing in her Naeem Khan Fall 2014 bronze pleated lamé halter gown with a scarf necktie; its slightly decadent languidness looking like it could hail from another era.

Accessorizing the metallic sheen of the gown, she carried a brushed gold Amanda Pearl clutch with appropriately understated, albeit numerous, jewels.

Alongside Dana Rebecca Designs earrings, she wore EFFY and Le Vian bracelets, and a statement ring for nearly every finger with designs by EF Collection, Graziela Gems, Carrera Y Carrera, and Sylva & Cie.

The floor-scraping gown perhaps is better served in motion, as proven by the runway, but regardless, it fell a bit too long. The polished gleam would have been better served a few inches shorter.
