Susan Kelechi Watson In Luisa Beccaria – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

There were some lovely ladies who attended the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (September 9) including Julianne Hough and Susan Kelechi Watson.

I feel that Susan’s ensemble could prove divisive because of the ethereal nature of the Luisa Beccaria Spring 2017 gown for fall and the styling.

While it might have been better suited to a spring red carpet, I found that the higher waist and lined skirt prevented it from being too bare on the bottom. I still appreciate the sheer details in the top, but would have preferred the final look to have been slightly less open.

Susan’s floral earrings are stunning and I see how they echo the natural elements of the dress, but a simple stud earring would have been enough. The gown’s gathered neckline and Susan’s soft updo get overpowered by the earrings.

Julianne Hough In Rami Al Ali Couture – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Julianne Hough attended the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday (September 9).

In keeping with the girlie aesthetic we saw at the Harper’s BAZAAR September Issue cover party, Julianne donned a Rami Al Ali Spring 2016 Couture gown in a shimmering silver pink. As it’s only fall, Julianne wisely left off the billowing coat to allow the draping on the fluid gown to be fully visible.

She brought a touch of Old Hollywood to the look with loose waves draped over one shoulder and Aldo shoes, which were hidden under the hem of her gown.

The darker box clutch might initially feel like an afterthought, but it’s tied into the look through the varying shades of pink and red of the cocktail rings and the Dvani ruby drop earrings.

2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Creative Arts Emmys Red Carpet Roundup

More actresses joined Julianne Hough, Katharine McPhee, and Heidi Klum at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on Saturday (September 12) in Los Angeles, California.

Rashida Jones: Amidst the sea of long gowns, the actress opted to go short in a Valentino bird-embroidered frock with equally whimsical, embellished shoes. There was a certain youthful charm to the look but it was perhaps one better suited to another occasion, or better yet, a starlet like Kiernan Shipka or Elle Fanning.

Rowan Blanchard: While lovely, the 13-year-old actress seemed a bit older than her years in his Paule Ka patterned gown. Perhaps she and Rashida should have swapped looks.

Mindy Kaling: Flaunting a bold hue like she does best, the funny girl could have stopped traffic in her red Salvador Perez asymmetrical, one-shoulder cape gown beautifully styled with soft curls and a complementary Swarovski clutch. Read More…

Julianne Hough joined Heidi Klum for the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on Saturday (September 12) in Los Angeles, California.

Am I alone in disliking this headache-inducing Jenny Packham Fall 2015 gown?

As much as I love embellishments there is way too much going on with this gown, plus I don’t think orange is Julianne’s colour.

Katharine McPhee In Naeem Khan & Sophie Theallet – 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards & LA Opera’s 30th Anniversary Season Opening Night

Katharine McPhee In Naeem Khan & Sophie Theallet - 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards & LA Opera's 30th Anniversary Season Opening Night

Katharine McPhee wore two gowns in one night while attending the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards and LA Opera’s 30th Anniversary Season Opening Night on Saturday (September 12) in Los Angeles, California.

2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards: You won’t be surprised that I simply love this lavish design from Naeem Khan’s Resort 2016 collection. While grazing the floor with its dramatic length, it’s really the embellishments which are the captivating factor, along with the slender fit and rose-gold accessories.

LA Opera’s 30th Anniversary Season Opening Night: My feelings towards her second gown by Sophie Theallet was slightly less enthused. Yes, the gown is gorgeous and perfectly styled with Emm Kuo clutch, but lacks the wow appeal of the first look.

Heidi Klum In Atelier Versace – 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum In Atelier Versace - 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Heidi Klum attended the 2015 Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on Saturday (September 12) in Los Angeles, California.

As you know the unfinished exposed corsets from this Atelier Versace Fall 2015 collection didn’t exactly float my boat, but I have to say I did find myself totally mesmerized by Heidi on this occasion.

It’s probably her beauty more than the leg exposing design – which she styled with Lorraine Schwatz jewels and geranium Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals – but I will place this in Heidi’s win file.
