Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge In Jenny Packham – 2018 BAFTAs

All the attendees of the 2018 BAFTAs were encouraged to wear black as a stand against sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the entertainment industry.

The one person who didn’t wear black was Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Instead she opted to wear a Jenny Packham green dress styled with a black clutch and stunning emerald jewels which felt over-elaborate with this look.

So why didn’t she wear black?

The Duchess, like other members of the royal family, are supposed to remain strictly neutral with respect to any political campaign or movement, and are under pressure not to make political statements. Also, royal family members are also encouraged not to wear black unless they are attending a funeral or Remembrance Day.

You’ll be happy to learn that dark green is a colour that is closely associated with the Suffragettes, who used the colour to represent hope. So why she couldn’t make visual stand in this instant, perhaps she was making a subtle one.

Allison Janney In Jenny Packham – ‘I, Tonya’ London Premiere

Allison Janney attended the ‘I, Tonya’ UK premiere held at The Curzon Mayfair this evening (February 15) in London.

Proving – once again – that blue is such a great colour for her, Allison wore a Jenny Packham Spring 2018 sequin gown.

Sequin gowns can sometimes have an overly flashy feel to theme, but this look was oozing with sophistication, just like the woman herself.

A Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ clutch and Anil Arjandas rutilated quartz tassel earrings completed her look.

Florence Kasumba In Jenny Packham – ‘Black Panther’ London Premiere

Florence Kasumba was a vision at the London premiere of ‘Black Panther’ on Thursday (February 8).

The Ugandan-German actress gave us a new perspective on sheer with this Jenny Packham Spring 2017 gown.

What struck me most, though, was its explosion of glossy, candy-like confetti embellishment, successfully fusing an artsy and whimsical mood with glamorous connotations.

A ruby-red lip fit right into the colourful, effervescent look.

Lucy Hale In Jenny Packham – 2018 amfAR Gala New York

Lucy Hale was one of my favourites at the 2018 amfAR Gala New York on Wednesday (February 7), where she joined Taraji P. Henson, Heidi Klum, Sienna Miller, Rachel Brosnahan, Olivia Culpo and Poppy Delevingne.

I love how she was able to breathe ethereal finesse into this Jenny Packham Fall 2017 gown.

It can be so difficult to make an illusion bodice work, but she elegantly nailed this look.

The incredible beadwork becomes the true focus, along with her effortless styling.

2018 Golden Globe Awards Parties

The 2018 Golden Globe Awards were a study in many glamorous renditions of the colour black. And, for the most part, the Globes after parties followed suit with the hue taking on all measures of late-night allure.

Diane Kruger: After a regally glamorous entrance at the Globes, Diane was at the InStyle and Warner Bros. post-party, where she imbued black, cropped trousers with a bit of creamy lace in this Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 ensemble. I have a feeling that the tattered, asymmetrical effect of the lace bustier top will turn some away from the more experimental look.

Tessa Thompson: At HBO’s official after party in LA, Tessa suited up in an Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2017 Couture menswear-inspired look that delivered plenty of intriguing edge when styled with the MATEO jewelry and bauble-accented sandals. I was happy for the sheer shirting underneath to balance the boxier shape of the tuxedo blazer.

Nina Dobrev: The actress flaunted her toned abs at the InStyle party in this Ralph Lauren cutout gown. Even with the futuristic liquid-silver paneling, something about the look read a bit dated. Alexis Bittar choker completed her look.
