José María Forqué Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more Spanish beauties taking to the red carpet joining Norma Ruiz and Juana Acosta for the José María Forqué Film Awards held at the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid, Spain on Monday (January 13).

Mar Saura: Working a unique and colourful abstract-printed look, the actress wore a Gabriela Cadena Spring 2014 fitted mini styled with bright-yellow Carolina Herrera sandals, which are to die for, and a Jimmy Choo clutch. While it feels less dressy than the other attendees, it’s a well-put-together look.

Aura Garrido: Nominated as Best Actress for her movie ‘Stockholm’, Aura wore a very familiar Christian Dior Resort 2014 strapless colour-block gown styled with white Ursula Mascaró pumps, a matching Jimmy Choo clutch featuring gold hardware, and Magerit jewels. You may remember that Marion Cotillard wore the same dress during Cannes Film Festival.

Natalia de Molina: Nominated as Best Actress for ‘Vivir es facil con los ojos cerrados’, Natalia wore a Roksanda Ilincic Fall 2013 dress which will also have a touch of familiarity about it as you may remember that Cate Blanchett wore the same dress in a peachy colour last year. Considering the orange line on the dress, she styled her look with an orange Stella McCartney clutch, with blue heels peeking out from under her dress.

Juana Acosta In Christian Dior - José María Forqué Film Awards

The José María Forqué Film Awards were held at the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid, Spain on Monday (January 13) with one of my favourite Colombian stars, Juana Acosta, in attendance.

The beautiful actress wore a pale-pink Christian Dior Fall 2013 sleeveless dress featuring an abstract print at the front and on the train which flowed at the back.

Never one to bore when it comes to her accessories, she was inspired by the runway to wear red Dior shoes, adding an extra dose of colour via her green Carolina Herrera clutch.

With a splash of red to the lips and a high curly ponytail, Juana completed her look with Magerit jewels.

Emma Watson In Christian Dior Couture - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Emma Watson was also among the starry mix at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

The young actress had me in complete amazement at her Christian Dior Couture outing—one that I would have never predicted. Lupita Nyong’o wasn’t the only one having a red-haute night.

From the front, Emma’s ribbon-tie dress was a classic standard—even borderline uninspiring. Of course, that’s before the thigh-high slit came into focus and the true backless nature of the design was revealed.

Contrasting the languid fluidity of the gown were black skinny, cropped trousers and a sassy pair of violet-blue Roger Vivier ‘Ergo Sexy’ pumps.

The boundaries-pushing trends didn’t stop there. She completed the effect with one Dior ‘Mise en Dior’ earring: two over-sized pearls decorating her left lobe.

While her ensemble may have pushed the envelope, her hair and makeup was downright pretty with her light magenta lip and sleekly effortless bun.

She’s young; this is fashion fun; so why not throw a bit of shock and awe around. What do you make of her head-turning entrance?

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

In what may not come as a big surprise to many, Jennifer Lawrence worked another Christian Dior design at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday night (January 12).

On this occasion, the ‘American Hustle’ supporting actress nominee pulled no punches, even playfully joking on the red carpet that her decision to wear Dior was such a ‘shocker.’

Although we’ve come to expect Dior from Jennifer, it’s always still a guessing game as to exactly what kind of designer moment she’ll have. This time, her strapless white gown was from the Fall 2013 Couture collection, although it registered as a familiar silhouette to what we’ve seen before.

The gathered, full-skirted dress, which may have skewed slightly bridal upon closer inspection, was punctuated by two black ribbon bands to cinch in the waist and hip.

While she skipped the runway’s theatrical, elbow-length gloves, she did further pull the shade of black into the look with a clutch and gemstone bracelets.

A jade-tinged pair of pendant earrings provided a burst of brighter colour to the ensemble, which she finished off with a deep oxblood lip and kohl-rimmed eyes.

This mainly monochromatic entrance was really about a play between the contrast of white and black, light and dark. Did it work for you?

Kate Bosworth In Christian Dior - Art of Elysium Heaven Gala

Kate Bosworth made her first red carpet appearance of 2014 at the Art of Elysium ‘Heaven’ Gala held at Skirball Cultural Center on Saturday (January 11) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a Christian Dior Spring 2014 frock for the occasion which I loved on the runway, but I’m not quite feeling that same love on Kate.

Maybe it’s the length of this pale-blue embellished and pleated frock on Kate, or maybe the accessories are a tad bland, but this is just OK for me when I expected it to be great.

A simple ponytail and a hot-red lip rounded out her look.
