Best Dressed Of The Week – Blake Lively In Gucci Premiere, Karolina Kurkova In Marchesa, Benedict Cumberbatch In Ralph Lauren & Douglas Booth In Burberry

BD1 12 May

There was just no separating Blake Lively and Karolina Kurkova this week.

Both taking 34% of your votes, they were neck and neck all weekend.

Blake swept you off your feet with her dazzling return to the red carpet in Gucci Premiere, while Karolina’s Marchesa sculpted strapless satin-organza gown was not only a thing of beauty but was also one of the very few looks which lived up to the theme. This was my favourite too.

2014 Met Gala Menswear Roundup

Met Gala Men 1The dress code at the 2014 Met Ball, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ was “white tie,” which meant the guys were on their best glam behavior—at least most of them. Tuxes were spotted at every turn among the handsome hunks on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 5). It takes a lot of sartorial strength to stand up to the rush of bustling, bold gowns that punctuate the evening, but let’s hear it for the men who made it work.

David Beckham: This hot topic was hotter than ever in a crisp, cool Ralph Lauren Black Label white shawl collar tuxedo jacket, black bow tie and black tuxedo pant. This is the way to rock formal wear, without a hit of fussiness. Swooning yet?

Douglas Booth
: The British actor took a regally traditional route, but put a refreshingly modern spin on his head-to-toe Burberry outing. He was positively dashing in a black tailcoat and dress trousers, worn with a white waistcoat, wing collar bib-front shirt, white bow tie and black loafers.

Andrew Garfield
: “The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ star looked sharp in silver, dressed in a Band of Outsiders metallic blazer with contrasting black shawl collar, paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and black tuxedo trousers. I love the touch of metal here.

Suki Waterhouse In Burberry – 2014 Met Gala

Suki Waterhouse In Burberry - 2014 Met Gala

Suki Waterhouse strikes a fierce pose on the red carpet for the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday (May 5).

Dressed in a frothy pink Burberry strapless, tiered creation, the romance is somewhat lost on me with that deep, harsh red lip.

My eye went straight to the lip despite all that lovely detail north of her shoulders.

Who Wore Burberry Better…Suki Waterhouse or Cara Delevingne?

Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better Suki Waterhouse or Cara Delevinge

Here we have two faces of Burberry rocking the same Burberry Prorsum suit.

Suki Waterhouse was the first two wear this maroon single button suit with black trims to the brand’s Fall 2014 menswear show back in January, keeping warm with a cream coat slung over her shoulders.

Cara Delevingne wore the same look a few weeks later, sans coat, to Harvey Weinstein’s pre-BAFTA dinner.

While it might appear that there is not much in it, I picked Suki because of the fit of her trousers. Cara opted for larger sized trousers, giving her not only a looser fit but also bunching at the ankles.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Emma Watson In Ralph Lauren Collection, Jennifer Connelly In Alexander McQueen & Douglas Boot In Burberry Tailoring

BDOTW 7 April

Emma Watson narrowly won the poll by 1% to be crowned best dressed of the week over Shailene Woodley in Zuhair Murad.

I was so totally enamoured by Jennifer Connelly in Alexander McQueen that she took the top spot for me for daring to be different and taking a risk which paid off.

On the men’s side the winner was more clear cut, with triumph for Douglas Booth in his Burberry Tailoring three-piece suit, which means it was yet another victory for the cast of ‘Noah’ this week, who were impeccably dressed throughout this promo tour.

Douglas Booth In Burberry Tailoring – ‘Noah’ London Premiere

Douglas Booth In Burberry Tailoring - 'Noah' London Premiere

Douglas Booth joined co-stars Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly for the London premiere of ‘Noah’ held at the Odeon Leicester Square on Monday (March 31), which marks the end of this epic tour.

The ladies haven’t skipped a beat, wowing us with each outfit; the same can be said for Douglas, who has worn a variety of sharp suits (mostly by British designers) including this Burberry Tailoring Prince of Wales check three-piece suit.

This look sees the British actor step outside of the box, as he has favoured navy up until now.

Opting for a crisp white shirt, patent-leather lace-ups and a tri-colour striped tie, he completed his look with a smouldering glare and sexy stubble.
