Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Best Dressed 1

Olga Kurylenko is having an amazing run during her promo tour for ‘Oblivion’, and that was reflected by her second BDOTW win in a row, this time for her Burberry Pre-Fall 2013 satin gown with embroidered details.

I would’ve given my vote to Karolina Kurkova, but finding out that what I thought was a Versace gown was actually a blatant copy dulled my love for the look.
So my vote went to Solange Knowles in Michael Kors.

Her cloudy sky-blue pants, white shirt and black blazer Spring 2013 combo was effortlessly chic whilst still maintaining a cool hip factor with a hot-pink lip colour to die for.

As for the men, you selected Alexander Skarsgard in Calvin Klein, while I also opted for a Calvin Klein clad actor, but my choice was Robert Downey Jr.

I just love the colours and his overall styling.

Olga Kurylenko In Burberry - 'Oblivion' LA Premiere

Olga Kurylenko is on an amazing roll at the moment. The Ukrainian actress stunned once again last night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, where the premiere for ‘Oblivion’ was held.

I haven’t been this excited about a promo tour since Kerry Washington for ‘Django Unchained’. The range of looks are just as exciting and varied.

On this occasion, Olga delights wearing a sleek Burberry gown, which features a beaded bodice and a luxe satin caramel-coloured skirt with a overlapping side slit.

The gown didn’t need any adornments; however, the look is elevated with an embellished Valentino clutch and Martin Katz jewels.

A chic updo, accented with a single braid, and Tom Ford pumps with a gold-tipped heel completed her look.

The only thing I would change about the look are the pumps, which I would swap for sandals. Thankfully, the skirt keeps her footwear under wraps.

Nick Cannon: The host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ joined Heidi Klum on the red carpet at the Rockefeller Center for the New York auditions. Going for a dapper look wearing a two-piece Vivienne Westwood Man suit, I find myself being bothered by the fit of the pants. The blazer features an insert waistcoat, giving the look a smart but trendy feel with a gold chain and button closure He styled his suit with a grey floral brooch, a lavender shirt, a blue printed tie with a tie pin, and grey shoes.

Robert Downing Jr.: The actor is still in Asia promoting the third installment of the ‘Iron Man’ franchise. On this occasion, he attended a photocall in Beijing, China wearing a Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2013 burgundy cotton two-button notch lapel suit. Aside from the obligatory sneakers by Lanvin, this was a surprisingly quirk-free look. I love the colour; the complementary CK shirt and purple tinted glasses help make this one of his best looks so far on this tour.

Alexander Skarsgard: The handsome actor joined Paula Patton on the red carpet last night for the ‘Disconnect’ New York screening. I have one word for Alexander in this Calvin Klein grey suit and black shirt: swoon.

Adele In Burberry - 2013 Oscars Performance

Adele continued to wave the flag for British fashion at the 2013 Oscars when she took to the stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles yesterday evening, for the performance of her Oscar winning song, ‘Skyfall’.

Having worn Jenny Packham on the red carpet, Adele donned a Burberry frock on this occasion, in her favoured colour black.

I love the shape of her black silk dress with degradé embroidered crystals, as it nipped her in at the waist giving her a beautiful silhouette.

Wearing her second pair of custom Christian Louboutin ‘Bibi’ strass pumps – this time in silver – Adele completed her look with a glorious voluminous bouffant.

Men Brits

On Wednesday, the Brit Awards 2013 was held at the O2 Arena in London. It was an impressive showing for menswear as many of the suits and tuxedos featured different colours and details. The best part was how many of those suits fit perfectly; English gents understand the importance of slim tailoring.

Ed Sheeran: The popular 22-year-old English singer once again looked very unpolished while wearing a Burberry navy suit. At the Grammys, Ed attempted to wear sneakers with his ill-fitted Burberry tuxedo. This time he chose much better sneakers, but his suit fits even worse than it did last time. Not only are his sleeves touching his knuckles, but his pants also look to be sitting quite low on his waist. Maybe that explains why they are bunching up at his ankles.

Louis Smith: This is my favorite suit out of the bunch. Louis sported a beautiful double-breasted Sand suit with peak lapels. He clearly has a great body, which comes with being an Olympic gymnast, and this suit accentuates that. Along with his suit, Louis wore a white Staunton Moods shirt with a classic black bow tie. His shoes also featured gold decals on them, but it didn’t take away from his loud suit.

Robbie Williams: The English singer-songwriter took a risk, wearing a purple one-button shawl-lapel tuxedo. He matched his deep-purple colour with a white shirt, a black skinny tie, and a well-folded pocket square. His risk certainly paid off.

Calvin Harris: Looking rather sharp in a midnight-navy suit, the Scottish DJ turned some heads on the red carpet. Under his notch-lapel jacket was a white semi-spread-collar shirt. A black skinny tie and just the right amount of blonde scruff polished off Calvin’s look.

Brit Awards 2013 - Red Carpet Arrivals

The 2013 Brit Awards took place in London last night; it was also a chance for the boy bands to shine.

One Direction scrubbed up nicely, sporting a mix of British designers.

The winners of the ‘Global Success Award’ arrived in different looks with one thing in common – black and white.

While each of them wore a black suit, except Liam Payne in an Alexander McQueen black cardigan with gold dragonfly embroidered on the chest, they each featured different details.

Louis Tomlinson opted for an Alexander McQueen shawl collar tux with brown shoes.

Zayn Malik had the most interesting look, wearing a TOPMAN black tuxedo with a black string bow tie.

Niall Horan kept it simple in an ASOS black suit and silver glitter kicks, while the group’s main man, Harry Styles, looked his part as the leader in a Burberry tailored suit with a white flower on his notch lapel. He also wore a patterned Burberry shirt, which he’s been doing a lot of lately.

Zayn gets our vote for best dressed here, followed by Louis.
