Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Fashion Star 1

A collection of other haute guests joined Miley Cyrus and Alexa Chung at the 30th Annual Night of Stars, presented by Fashion Group International, held yesterday at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Here, a look at their statement-making entrances.

Zoe Kravitz: The starlet assured us that the cropped top trend is still alive and kicking with an Alexander Wang ensemble featuring a reptilian-embossed bralette and high-waisted long skirt. With such a strong, skin-baring moment, I would have preferred to see slightly more understated styling, rather than her braided updo and supremely smokey eye.

Joan Smalls: The model posed in a plunging Alexander Wang tuxedo halter jumpsuit that balanced a carefree and come-hither attitude with its daring lines, yet sporty dropped waist and pockets. She topped it off with wavy ponytail and and a pair of metallic-laced cage sandals.

Taylor Schilling: Working a Zuhair Murad white frock, embellished with black stencil flowers, the ‘Orange is the New Black’ star stayed far away from her character’s colours. She did add a punch via a forest-green Vince Camuto clutch and a magenta lip, finishing the ensemble with Nancy Newberg jewels and Kurt Geiger ankle-strap sandals.

Katie Holmes In Azzedine Alaia - 'Gravity' New York Premiere

Katie Holmes made a rare appearance on the red carpet to attend the ‘Gravity’ premiere held at AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City yesterday evening alongside Sandra Bullock and Emma Watson.

More often than not I find Katie a tad bland on the red carpet, but she looked divine showing off her gams in this pretty pink Alaïa skater dress with a pleated skirt.

Her styling was kept simple and sweet with a ponytail, glossy pink lips and leg-lengthening nude Michael Kors ‘Avra’ pumps.

Naomi Campbell In Azzedine Alaia - Azzedine Alaia Spring 2014 Presentation

Naomi Campbell stood head and shoulders above Azzedine Alaïa while attending a party for the designer’s Spring 2014 collection during Paris Fashion Week yesterday evening.

Most supermodels of her generation wear Alaïa often on the red carpet, but none more so than Ms Campbell herself. In fact, if she’s not wearing McQueen, she’s wearing Alaïa.

On this occasion she took a rare night off from wearing a black Alaïa dress in order to model this beautiful blue turtleneck dress embroidered with green sequins.

After sporting wavy tresses just two days ago, the super wore a banging bob this time out.

An emerald ring, which sparkled more brightly than her frock, and black heels completed her look.

Mia Wasikowska In Azzedine Alaia - ‘Tracks’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

After previously hitting the portrait studio for the film, Mia Wasikowska attended the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her film ‘Tracks’ yesterday.

The star wore a bright pink Azzedine Alaia dress paired with nude Brian Atwood ‘Hester’ strappy sandals.

I was so excited to see the star going the extra mile with her hair and makeup finally. Her twisted milkmaid braid adds some fun to her short bob, and her frosty eyeliner and pink lips look young and fresh.

So was disappointed that the flashbulbs of the camera gave the star a complete peek-a-boo moment with both her bra and underwear on full display–a true ‘oops’ moment that must be accidental considering the star’s demure nature.

Naomi Campbell In Azzedine Alaia - Novak Djokovic Foundation London Gala Dinner

Naomi Campbell attended the Novak Djokovic Foundation London gala dinner at The Roundhouse in London yesterday evening.

No prizes for guessing that she was wearing an Alaïa dress, as that is pretty much all she wears both on and off the red carpet.

As stunning as she looks, I have a been-there-done-that déjà vu vibe about this look, plus it was so hot in London yesterday something other than the predictable black from Naomi would’ve been appreciated.

I’m sure she is aware that Mr Alaïa creates dresses in other colours.

Silver and emerald jewels completed her look.

Coleen Rooney In Azzedine Alaia - Wimbledon Men’s Final

Coleen Rooney and Manchester United football star hubby Wayne Rooney put on their Sunday best for the Men’s Singles Final between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London yesterday afternoon.

Coleen joined many celebrity guests including Victoria Beckham in celebrating Andy Murray’s win.

The WAG wore a distinctive Azzedine Alaïa frock with a scooped neckline and fit-and-flare silhouette.

Sporting a very orange glow, Coleen styled her look with a nude Saint Laurent clutch and ‘Tribtoo’ pumps, with a simple ponytail providing the finishing touches.

You may remember that Britney Spears first wore this timeless frock back in May 2012 for the X Factor Kansas auditions.
