Models @ The 2017 Met Gala

The models had their moment at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City. Here, a look at how they made the night’s blue carpet their catwalk.

Bella Hadid: We’ve heard of the naked dress, but Bella had the naked jumpsuit of the evening in this sheer mesh Alexander Wang number that left precious little to the imagination.

Gigi Hadid: Her sister may have opted for the naked look, but Gigi just went plain nude in this sweeping Tommy Hilfiger gown—her version of a princess dress—that combined architectural tailoring with romantic femininity. To add an edge, Wolford fishnets did the trick for her leg jut that was likewise accessorised by Christian Louboutin heels.

Christina Ricci In Azzedine Alaïa- ‘Z: The Beginning Of Everything’ Emmy FYC Screening

Christina Ricci attended the Emmy FYC Screening for Amazon’s ‘Z: The Beginning Of Everything’ on Thursday (April 27) in Hollywood, California.

I was completely charmed by this Azzedine Alaïa Spring 2017 embroidered frock which had all the glories of spring, done up in a chic silhouette mixed with cool, graphic patterning.

The styling was also on point, from the Edie Parker ‘Lara’ red clutch to the fresh coral lip. Even the white pumps worked on this occasion.

Were you equally impressed by this fresh statement?

2017 Time 100 Gala Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more looks to grace the red carpet for the 2017 Time 100 Gala on Tuesday (April 25) in New York City.

Naomi Campbell: The supermodel opted for an Alaia piece which was selected not only to colour coordinate with the step and repeat, but also because of its fine craftsmanship. Yes, it’s a bit heavy for spring, but Naomi has always marched to the beat of her own drum.

Margot Robbie: While I wish this Prada dress wasn’t so shapeless, the colourful embellishments – which reminded me of 100s and 1000s – the pale yellow hue, Delfina Delettrez jewels and the pretty pink purse did soften my stance and I have to say I love the look.

Ashley Graham: I love Ashley’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with what I feel is the over-styling of this look – starting with that choker. The look consisted of a Cami NYC camisole, Nili Lotan ‘Maya’ maxi skirt and Fleur Du Mal corset.

Scarlett Johansson In Azzedine Alaïa – ‘Ghost In The Shell’ Paris Premiere

Scarlett Johansson joined Juliette Binoche and Adwoa Aboah for the Paris Premiere ‘Ghost In The Shell’ at Le Grand Rex on Tuesday (March 21) in France.

While she took the safe passage for the Seoul premiere, this Azzedine Alaïa Fall 2016 look will join her list of wow moments; mostly for the unexpected nature.

Striking, dynamic, rich in texture and full of intrigue, I love how the Alaïa booties and smouldering eye makeup further emboldens this look.

Scarlett Johansson In Azzedine Alaïa – ‘Ghost In The Shell’ Seoul Premiere

After the Tokyo press conference and premiere for ‘Ghost In The Shell,’ Scarlett Johansson was off to the Seoul premiere on Thursday (March 17).

Taking a break from the bolder hues we’ve seen her last few times out, she wore an Azzedine Alaïa Spring 2017 off-the-shoulder black gown.

Here, she did in fact keep the wide, sash-like belt intact, to define a waistline beneath the blouson top. Yet the more casual nature of the dress didn’t necessarily require the diamond necklace, as it competed with said belt beneath.

The look didn’t quite have the gravitas or presence I would prefer on the red carpet. What do you make of it?
