Zhang Ziyi In Giambattista Valli Couture - Jury 'Un Certain Regard' Cannes Film Festival Photocall

We can all breathe a huge sigh of relief as it appears that Zhang Ziyi’s cropped ‘do from last night’s opening ceremony was just a wig.

This morning she returned to the Palais des Festivals for the Jury ‘Un Certain Regard’ photocall during Cannes Film Festival.

She looked exquisite wearing a Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture dress featuring a sheer top and colourful patterned structured skirt with green embroidered leaf details throughout.

Yellow Louboutin pumps complement the hue of her skirt, with gold H.Stern jewels providing the finishing touches.

I know many of you disliked her spirited opening ceremony look, deeming it not worthy of the occasion; should she have swapped her photocall look with her previous look?

Miley Cyrus In Valentino - Maxim Hot 100 Party

Miley Cyrus suffered a makeup malfunction while attended the Maxim Hot 100 Party held at Vanguard in Hollywood, California as the magazine’s HOT 100 #1 girl.

I would be not surprised if the person who applied this Ronald McDonald clown makeup is headed to the job center this morning.

The singer wore a black strapless Valentino jumpsuit with a white banded neckline featuring a sculptural contrast back bow lending a dainty finish to this strapless one-piece.

Styling her look, Miley added her favourite Saint Laurent ‘Paloma’ sandals – which we’ve also seen on Kelly Rowland and Jada Pinkett Smith – and a selection of gold jewels.

You may remember that Lena Dunham has also worn this jumpsuit earlier this year.

Emma Stone In Michael Kors - Gilda's Club Benefit Luncheon

Emma Stone attended the 2013 Gilda’s Club Benefit Luncheon on Wednesday in New York City.

The ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ actress wore a pleated blouse and narrow-cut lace pants from the Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013 collection, matched with pointy black Christian Louboutin heels.

Despite the top-and-trousers combo, this lacy entrance still had a semi-feminine, boardroom-meets-boudoir effect. You could definitely see the designer’s ’50s-inspired influences for Pre-Fall at work here.

But there was something about the buttery-beige hue and the heaviness of the black pants that started to put me off this look.

Perhaps it seemed too solemn for May, and I’ve seen Emma in far better colours for her fair complexion and glossy blonde locks.

Fresh-faced makeup (which allowed a smattering of freckles to show through) and a coral-pink lip did add a lighter note.

Brandy Norwood In Camilla and Marc - 'Dancing with the Stars' 300th Episode After Party

Returning to the ballroom, singer-actress Brandy Norwood waltzed onto the red carpet of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ 300th episode after party at Boulevard3 in Hollywood, California on Tuesday.

For the reunion and landmark occasion, the ‘DWTS’ alum flashed a radiant smile in her Camilla and Marc Spring 2013 peplum top and miniskirt that featured a mix of prints, including a digital chain and painterly watercolour blooms.

All I could think about was the letter ‘P’ when I saw this look: Pattern. Print. Peplum. Pink Pumps.

It all made for a rather punchy entrance, which Brandy punctuated with a funky, mismatched black-and-white manicure.

And I cannot say I was unhappy to see the magenta shoe, when she could have so easily resorted to a standard black or white pair. But the suede still felt a bit heavy for the springtime.

With her gorgeous ‘do, she also showed us Solange Knowles isn’t the only who can flaunt the ‘fro.

Chloe Moretz in Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony at 'Nylon' Magazine's Young Hollywood Issue Event

NYLON magazine’s newest cover girl, Chloe Moretz, was the starlet of the show at the glossy’s ‘Young Hollywood’ issue party at The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California on Tuesday.

For her big entrance, the actress was thinking pink in a pastel gingham minidress by Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony.

The two Chloes should be a perfect fit at a NYLON event. Yet, I still wasn’t loving this high-neck, long-sleeve frock, despite its cute factor and the cotton-candy-coloured print. There just wasn’t much sassy or spirited edge that I could pluck off of this glorified street-wear look.

Like at the MTV Movie Awards, Chloe trotted out a fun pair of burgundy bow-accented, retro T-bar Jimmy Choo shoes. Loose waves, a flicked cat-eye and black-lacquered nails polished off the ensemble.

But, at the ripe age of sweet sixteen, I say she should be seizing the day in the name of style and experimenting with fashion. There is plenty of time to play it safe. Carpe diem.

Do you think Chloe’s look was cover-girl material?
