Cannes Film Festival Day 7 Red Carpet Roundup

Day 7 of the Cannes Film Festival brought with it some stunning entrances as part of the 70th anniversary celebration. Here are more looks that took to the red carpet on Tuesday (May 23)

Irina Shayk: The model wasn’t at the 70th screening but she was at the ‘Hikari (Radiance)’ premiere, where it would seem to have taken the title of the film into account in her lemon-bright Atelier Versace custom gown styled with Lorraine Schwartz canary yellow diamonds to match. The dress was not only sheer Versace with its ruched, slit seductiveness, it was also sheer through and through although its lemony hue somewhat distracted from the see-through effect.

Bianca Balti: For the 70th anniversary screening, Bianca opted for a Dolce and Gabbana Alta Moda embroidered gown styled with DeGrisogono statement earrings. With a faint kimono-esque style, the dress held a sense of restrained elegance—although I did find the embellished heels to be unnecessary to complete the picture.

Tilda Swinton In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

Tilda Swinton was bound to go for the alternative for the 70th anniversary screening this evening (May 23) during Cannes Film Festival.

I love that she stepped wearing a sparkling black tweed jumpsuit from Chanel’s Fall 2017 collection.

Those who thought her two looks by her BBF Haider Ackermann didn’t show her true colours, will no doubt be buoyed by this sleek offering which is demurely cut yet still dramatic.

Fan Bingbing In Louis Vuitton – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

By all accounts Fan Bingbing is deliberately keeping a low profile during Cannes Film Festival as she’s been taking her juror position very seriously, preferring to concentrate on that, rather than attend several events per night, which is to be commended.

So it was good to see her back for the 70th anniversary screening this evening (May 23).

This might not be to everyone’s liking, but I love how she ushers in a new romantic mood in this girlie pink Louis Vuitton custom design, infused with bohemian sensibilities which she styled with De Beers jewels.

I know many were expected several BDOTY worthy moments from Bingbing, however, I’m not disappointed with any of her looks so far.

Monica Bellucci In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

The mistress of ceremonies is usually only seen on at the opening and closing ceremony, but as this was a special night celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cannes Film Festival, Monica Bellucci was back on the red carpet.

I have to say I’m not entirely sure about this gold sequin Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 gown on the Italian beauty.

I don’t want to like it just because it’s not black, because in truth, her best looks so far have all been outstanding in black.

My problem is this look isn’t allowing her true beauty to really shine through.

This is a rare miss for Monica. I’m almost certain I would’ve loved this black crepe or black velvet, as the silhouette is gorgeous.

Uma Thurman In Prada – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

If your first thought when you saw Uma Thurman’s Prada gown on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet this evening was Anne Hathaway’s 2013 Oscar dress, you’re not only.

Not only do they share the same pretty pink hue, but they also share the frustrating feeling of wanting, yet failing to love it.

I mean, what is going on around the midriff?

An extra hour with a seamstress would’ve worked out that kink surely.

It’s such a shame because had so much plenty of potential and could’ve been one of the stand-out looks of the night.

A pink Prada clutch and gold sandals completed her look.

Adele Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

Adele Exarchopoulos was of course wearing Louis Vuitton for the 70th anniversary screening during Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 23), selecting a fresh-off-the-runway look from the Resort 2018 collection.

I’m not entirely sure this look is working for me. And considering I love anything that sparkles, this is surprising.

The dress itself is quite dull without the runway styling, which is starting to make sense now

Also, I was very underwhelmed with Adele’s choice of accessories.

Matchy matchy didn’t work in this case.
