Maggie Gyllenhaal In Christian Dior - 'White House Down' New York Premiere

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the New York premiere of ‘White House Down’ held at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on Tuesday evening.

The actress wore a Christian Dior Fall 2013 bi-colour strapless knit patterned dress featuring a ruffle peplum.

This look places me firmly on the fence. On the one hand, I have loved Maggie’s choices so far during this promo tour as they have been varied and interesting.

The minimalist styling is perfect for this look and I love this bold pink lip colour she’s been rocking lately.

On the other, I’m not crazy about the length. It almost kills the entire look for me.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Vionnet - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

Following the Washington D.C. premiere of her latest movie ‘White House Down’ on Friday evening, Maggie Gyllenhaal was spotted back in New York City visiting ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ to continue to hype the movie.

The actress wore a pretty Vionnet Pre-Fall 2013 long-sleeved silk wrap dress with colourful shades of pastel-pink and blue, with green and black also added into this colourful mix.

Opting for subtle black accessories, she added a leather clutch and the same Casadei ‘Blade’ kitten heels she wore to the premiere.

This is an atypical look for Maggie; simple, effortless and chic.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Alexander McQueen - 'White House Down' Washington DC Premiere

With a movie titled ‘White House Down’ it only made sense to have its first premiere held in Washington DC.

Star of the movie, Maggie Gyllenhaal took to the red carpet wearing Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 dress.

Her commercial frock featuring a high -pearl accented- neckline, gold embellished yoke with a cut-out detail and long sleeves was styled with black Casadei ‘Blade’ kitten heels and a Anndra Neen cage clutch.

Sporting her now signature pixie cut, she completed her look with smoky eyes and a pink lip colour.

Met Gala 2013

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening. Models @ The Met post will follow.

Brooklyn Decker: The actress wore a custom Peter Pilotto look inspired by the Spring 2013 collection. While the look is custom I feel like I have seen this look several times before, so there is nothing fresh or new about it, unlike other custom looks as showcased by Karolina Kurkova and several others. Her Sergio Rossi ‘Hypnos’ sandals, however, are a work of art.

Alicia Keys: The singer took to the red carpet wearing a custom Jason Wu gown. Her black leather and bordeaux sequin embroidered halter gown is beautiful, but I wish Alicia had pushed the punk vibe with the styling a bit more; the red streaks in her hair aren’t enough for me, especially when we know Alicia isn’t afraid of taking a fashion risk. Robert Lee Morris jewels and a vintage clutch completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress wore a beautiful custom Calvin Klein scarlet gown for the occasion which was punked up as far as she would go with a studded choker and a Tod’s black studded clutch with a gold frame. While I do love this look, I wish Maggie had gone bra shopping before this event.

Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dresses Opening Exhibit

There were many more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Katy Perry for the special exhibition of selected costumes designed by Miuccia Prada and costume designer Catherine Martin for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’ in New York City yesterday evening.

Alexa Chung: Fresh off the plane from her Vogue Festival London trip, the jet-setting TV presenter wore a black Miu Miu crewneck tunic featuring some gold detailing. Black loafers and a black clutch accessorized her outfit, with barely there makeup completing her effortless look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The indie actress stands out here wearing a bright-white Prada dress with ruffled details on the bodice and cuffs. Maggie’s choices are often hit or miss. This for me is a hit, although I’m not a huge fan of the platform sandals.

Florence Welch: Is it me, or does Florence’s Prada look have a touch of Saint Laurent about it? Maybe it’s the suit-and-hat combo which has now become synonymous with the brand. As always this is a stellar chic look from the British singer.
