Kerry Washington In Alexander McQueen & Marchesa – 2015 Kennedy Center Honors Formal Artist’s Dinner & Gala

Kerry Washington In Alexander McQueen - 2015 Kennedy Center Honors Formal Artist's Dinner & Gala

Kerry Washington showcased two sides to her style for the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors Formal Artist’s Dinner on Saturday (December 5), before switching things up at the 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala on Sunday (December 6) in Washington, DC.

2015 Kennedy Center Honors Formal Artist’s Dinner: Kerry’s wore a look from Alexander McQueen’s Resort 2016 collection which was rendered in a painterly flower pattern which recharged the classic, flattering silhouette of this charming strapless gown. The look was styled with a DVF clutch and Louboutin pumps.

38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors Gala: The ‘Scandal’ star turned things up several notches by going glam for the gala. I love how her feather bustier Marchesa dress marries chic sophistication and sex appeal. Some might deem this too sexy for the occasion, but I would take this over a predictable embellished or tulle gown any day.

WWD And Variety’s Stylemakers Event

WWD And Variety's Stylemakers Event

The WWD And Variety inaugural stylemakers’ event took place at Smashbox Studios on Thursday (November 19) in Culver City, California.

Kerry Washington: While I am enjoying the nautical inspiration of her Saloni Spring 2016 off-the-shoulder top and skirt, the striped Nicholas Kirkwood shoes were a graphic step too far.

Freida Pinto: I love how the Indian actress added some much needed colour to this red carpet. Her bright yellow Roksanda ticked all my boxes: fun, flirty and fabulous. Casadei sandals and a box clutch completed her look.

Kate Holmes: The actress wore a refinded look from Zac Posen, which I have to say I love. From the silk blouse to the embellished skirt, this look oozes lady-like appeal.

Kerry Washington In Self-Portrait & Giambattista Valli Couture - MaxMara & Allure Celebrate ABC's #TGIT & 2015 Baby2Baby Gala

This weekend Kerry Washington attended the ‘MaxMara & Allure Celebrate ABC’s #TGIT’ event and the 2015 Baby2Baby Gala (where she was honoured) on Saturday (November 14) in California.

Judging by both looks, it’s safe to say Kerry is very much back on track.

MaxMara & Allure Celebrate ABC’s #TGIT: Kerry’s first look was a captivating design from Self Portrait. This angelic mid-length dress featuring all-over floral lace, layered upon a flesh-toned lining is decidedly pretty and oozing with lady-like charm. This is only further enhanced with her effortless styling which included laser cut Paul Andrew ‘Dasha’ pumps.

2015 Baby2Baby Gala: The queen of the night made sure all eyes were on her when she stepped onto the red carpet wearing this breath-taking Giambattista Valli Couture gown. I love everything about this look from the contrasting petals to the modest sheer skirt as Kerry exudes confidence and glamour.

Kerry Washington In BOSS – ACLU SoCal Hosts 2015 Bill Of Rights Dinner

Kerry Washington In BOSS - ACLU SoCal Hosts 2015 Bill Of Rights Dinner

Kerry Washington attended the ACLU SoCal hosts 2015 Bill of Rights dinner held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Sunday (November 8) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress who’s never been afraid of colour, opted for a sleek black dress from BOSS styled with Lorraine Schwartz diamond pyramid shaped earrings and Paul Andrew ‘Sidai’ black lace pumps.

Why do I love this and not Reese Witherspoon’s black frock?

Because of the impeccable tailoring and the satin fold-over detail that gives this piece a stand-out quality.

Yes, the dress could’ve been an inch or two shorter; and yes, I would’ve preferred a contrasting shoe, but considering the event she was dressed appropriately.

Kerry Washington In Balenciaga – 2015 Global Citizen Festival In Central Park To End Extreme Poverty By 2030

Kerry Washington In Balenciaga - 2015 Global Citizen Festival In Central Park To End Extreme Poverty By 2030

Kerry Washington joined Olivia Wilde at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival to end extreme poverty by 2030 in Central Park on Saturday (September 26) in New York City.

The actress who has recently found more solid fashion footing wore a Balenciaga Resort 2016 black-and-white mini dress that celebrated corsetry with exaggerated lacing woven through the front.

There was a sense of quirky charm to the molded angles and inside-out attitude of this look although I actually found myself more drawn to her zesty coral-orange lip colour and peppy ponytail.

Does this latest statement from Kerry see her take a step forward or back on your style scale?

Like Olivia Wilde, Kerry also toughened up the look with a Maje Biche leather jacket.
