Kerry Washington In Dolce & Gabbana – 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Kerry Washington was the recipient of the ‘Spotlight Award’ at the Costume Designers Guild Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 20) in California.

Dolce & Gabbana is continually inspired by the theme of love, so falling in love with this Spring 2018 black floral appliqué gown was a very easy thing to do.

This is truly a mesmerising and captivating piece. Kerry Washington at her very best.

Adding to the glamour by teaming it with gold accents and a rouge lip, this might be one of my favourite looks from the ‘Scandal’ actress in a long while.

Kerry Washington In Paolo Sebastian – 2018 Producers Guild Awards

Kerry Washington also graced the 2018 Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday (January 20).

The actress wore a Fall 2016 Paolo Sebastian gown with various jewels from Graziela Gems, Effy Jewelry and EF Collection.

This gown is such a statement, and looks beautiful on Kerry. The embroidery is both fun and elegant, and of course, the presence of print makes her stand out from her red carpet peers.

I love the shorter hemline, though I wish that it was a bit shorter on Kerry, as we see at the runway presentation, as that tea length is such perfection.

The ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ ponytail as I love to call it is making a big return to the scene this season, and it is fierce on the actress. Her berry lip is the perfect complement to the gown.

Kerry Washington In Michael Kors Collection – 2018 NAACP Image Awards

Kerry Washington attended the 2018 NAACP Image Awards on Monday (January 15) in Pasadena, California, during the final season of her hit show, ‘Scandal’.

The actress wore a custom black silk-and-wool duchesse gown from Michael Kors Collection, styled with Atelier Tasaki x Prabal Gurung jewels.

I love the overall elegance of this look. I’m surprised this wasn’t an option for the Golden Globes.

The slight problem I have with this custom piece, is that the skirt appears to be a of couple inches too long.

I feel like the skirt would’ve sat a lot better had it been skimming the floor rather than pulling against the floor.

Kerry Washington In Prabal Gurung – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Edgy glamour was Kerry Washington’s M.O., as she attended the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

This shimmering, sequined Prabal Gurung slit-to-there frock isn’t exactly what I would have pegged the ‘Scandal’ actress to wear on this red-carpet night.

But, I think I was intrigued all the more by it, for its slightly unexpected, rebellious nature.

Roger Vivier floral-embellished booties were in keeping with the edginess of the ensemble.

I am glad she wore her hair in bouncy waves, which added a note of romantic femininity to soften the look that was completed by Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

I do think the lookbook’s longer length would have offered a bit more formality to the gown. What about you?

Kerry Washington In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2018 Breakthrough Prize

Kerry Washington attended the 2018 Breakthrough Prize event on Sunday (December 3) in Mountain View, California.

I adore Kerry in this Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture dress.

Aside from the floral print and delicate embellishments, I love the softness and vulnerability of this look.

I wouldn’t have picked those black Gisueppe Zanotti ‘Sharon’ peep-toe pumps, but there’s no doubt they are balanced by the colour-block detail on her dress.

While I have strong feelings of love towards this look, some might say this dress is too twee for Kerry, and perhaps she should’ve saved this for Yara Shahidi, Kiernan Shipka, Millie Bobby Brown or Elle Fanning.

Kerry Washington In Altuzarra – Vulture Festival LA

Kerry Washington attended the Vulture Festival Los Angeles on Saturday (November 18) in Hollywood, California.

The actress wore an Altuzarra Spring 2018 dress style with Christian Louboutin sandals.

I’m glad she kept the fishnet overlay. Not only because it gives this look an edge, but also for the decidedly Parisan sensibility it brings to the look.

Gucci @ 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala

As the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala in LA on Saturday (November 4) was presented by Gucci, there were quite a number of Gucci looks in attendance from the label’s devoted darlings.

Dakota Johnson: You might recognize this Gucci Spring 2018 embellished, plisse gown from the Red Carpet Wish List for Mandy Moore. Yet, its languid, boudoir glamour was actually in keeping with Dakota’s style, too. I know some may qualify the swoop of her hairstyle as a bit mature, and I wouldn’t disagree. However, I did like the drama brought forth from her long earrings and oxblood lip.

Zoe Saldana: I think Zoe may be the only one who could wear this Gucci gown and not make me want to immediately rip off the giant pink rose corsages from the flamenco, caped shoulders.
