2017 Grammy Awards Menswear

The 2017 Grammy Awards wasn’t without its fair share of menswear looks that ran the gamut from traditional to totally out-there.

John Legend: The singer kept it classic in a Gucci black suit, made unique by virtue of the dark rose-coloured dress shirt and matching floral-printed bow tie.

Desiigner: Like some of the girls at the Grammys, the hip hop artist also bared his chest in a luxe velvet vintage Armani suit in a rich eggplant hue styled with Jimmy Choo boots and the requisite chains.

Anderson Paak: The rapper opted for a directional Rick Owens ensemble that was monk-meets-musician.

2017 Grammy Awards Artists Second Looks

For the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12) in LA, some stars didn’t only rock one look. It was a double feature—a triple feature for a few—with quick changes all night long.

Celine Dion: Don’t let the side view of this Mugler Pre-Fall 2017 black gown fool you. It was still slit way up to there, as presented in the look book, showing off some major leg as the music icon took the stage to present the award for Song of the Year.

Chrissy Teigen In Roberto Cavalli & Paule Ka – 2017 Grammy Awards

With her husband John Legend performing at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 12) in LA, Chrissy Teigen was also in attendance for the big night.

Awards Show: Black certainly was far from boring in Chrissy’s Roberto Cavalli Spring 2017 sheer, cut-out gown that served up plenty of provocative appeal. Sure, there is the panty problem, but it’s minor here. We’ve seen far worse in execution than this look, which actually benefits from the complexity tied up in its lacy patterning, lace-up detailing, and fringe.

After Party: After her sexy, skin-is-in statement for the show, this Paule Ka Fall 2017 dress provided a nice counterpoint in its effortless wrap silhouette—not to mention the luscious sunset-orange hue. Too bad it looks as if it was left crumpled on the floor prior to her wearing it, what with the creases.

Adele In Givenchy Couture by Riccardo Tisci – 2017 Grammy Performances

While Adele was glorious in a green Givenchy gown on the 2017 Grammy Awards red carpet on Sunday (February 12) in LA, she also offered up two additional performance looks that were just as compelling for her big night that saw her taking home five trophies.

Look 1: Her first performance gown was a custom Givenchy Couture by Riccardo Tisci piece featuring multi-coloured Swarovski crystals and a plisse skirt. I love how the stained glass pattern, formed by the crystals, illuminated this look and only further increased Adele’s radiance on stage.

Look 2: As her second performance was a tribute to the late George Michael, she wore a more sombre custom Givenchy Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown inspired by the Fall 2012 Couture collection. Darker in form, the look gained its richness from the embossed velvet and cape of fringe that still delivered high on subtle drama.

The first look was my favourite for its vibrant hues. Which did you prefer?

Beyonce Knowles In Peter Dundas – 2017 Grammy Awards Press Room

If you’re going to launch your eponymous label, there is one place to do it – the Grammys; and one lady to do it with – Beyonce Knowles. And Peter Dundas did just that.

Following her performance look, Beyonce collected two Grammys – Best Video, Formation’ and Best Urban Contemporary Album, ‘Lemonade’ – wearing a Peter Dundas red sequin gown.

Peter Dundas knows how to make a woman feel alluring; and this dress is the proof.

Sequinned scene-stealers were commonplace on the red carpet, but this one was on another level. It was an absolutely dazzling piece that ensures all eyes were kept on Bey.

She was also glowing with the help of $12 million worth of Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Solange Knowles In Iris van Herpen Couture – 2017 Grammy Awards Performance

Solange Knowles picked up her first Grammy award for her song “Cranes in the Sky” in the Best R&B Performance category, after an amazing year for her album, ‘A Seat At The Table’, won worldwide critical acclaim.

The singer wore one of the rare easy-to-wear pieces from Iris van Herpen’s Fall 2016 Couture collection which possesses artful feminine draping while giving us a glimpse at the designers romantic side.

I adored Solange’s Gucci look, and this is very much on par. You can always rely on Solange to bring something new to the table.

The ethereal look was styled with Stuart Weitzman ‘Alterego’ pumps and a gorgeous pair of drop earrings.

Lady Gaga’s Three 2017 Grammy Awards Outfits

After a host of Versace look during last week’s Super Bowl activities, Lady Gaga was back to her bewildering best at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

Red Carpet: The singer went hell for leather starting with chain-accented hot pants and a cropped jacket by Alex Ulichny which showed everything but her nipples. Methinks this outfit was a two-finger salute to all those body shamers.

Performance: Wearing her ‘I’m with the band’ t-shirt, she performed with Metallic wearing a customised vintage t-shirt with more chains, fishnets and safety pins to ensure this was certified rock chick look.

After-Party: Gaga’s final look courtesy of Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2017 Couture collection, was perhaps the most covered up she was all night. This was the perfect party piece which saw her boogie the night away with the ultimate dance partner John Travolta.
