Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Here is a first look at Madonna’s Fall 2009 ad campaign for Louis Vuttion as she reprises her role as the face of brand.

She’s of course wearing the bunny ears which she sported at the Costume Institute Gala plus a magenta dress with voluminous sleeves and a poufy skirt.

I don’t know about you but this picture is over photoshopped for my liking. She’s barely recognizable.

The only thing that hasn’t been retouched is the monogram bag.

Today David Beckham unveiled his new Emporio Armani Underwear Fall 2009 campaign at Selfridges Oxford Street in London.

The black and white campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and I hope their are plenty more pictures to come.

Like you I’m drooling on my keyboard, but the hair is a tad distracting don’t you think?

I want to focus on those abs, and those beautifully designed briefs, but the hair….

David Beckham was dressed in a navy blue Giorgio Armani suit, as he unveiled the poster which covered the entire front facade of Selfridges.

Thousands of Londoners who turned up to greet him in spite of the pesky tube strike, but only 300 lucky fans got the chance to meet him.

At the unveiling David said, “I don’t mind taking pictures in my underwear. It’s when the pictures are unveiled, like today, that it’s a bit embarrassing.”

“David has a great sense of style and is an inspiring role model, this is what makes him the perfect partner for Emporio Armani underwear. I am very excited that David Beckham’s new campaign image was unveiled exclusively in his home country and where better than at such an iconic retail destination as Selfridges,” said Giorgio Armani.

Emma Watson has been unveiled as the new face of Burberry, with a stunning set of pictures shot by Mario Testino.

The images capture Watson looking innocent and charming, in a variety of classic trench coats from the Fall 2009 collection.

I love the dark and moody picture above, plus the picture of Emma carrying the Burberry Woolf bag.  The new it bag, is a suede tote with embroidered overlay, which is set to retail at £1,095.

There have been many rumours linking Emma to Chanel for a few years, but this is the first major advertising campaign for the 19 year old.

I like the ads, but Testino’s shots for the fashion house, are slightly predictable.

Creative director Riccardo Tisci opted for some changes, for the Givenchy Fall 2009 advertising campaign.

Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, gave way to Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who’s new creative approach, gave us a campaign in colour, and away from a studio.

Mariacarla Boscono, Tisci muse, is the only model who remains in the campaign, joined by Iris Strubegger, Leonor Scherrer, and newcomer Ranya Mordanova.

The other new addition, is the biggest surprise.

Guess who this demonic angel is.

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto and Lost’s Evangeline Lilly are joining Elizabeth Banks as the newest world spokespeople for L’Oreal Paris.

The Luxist had said back in April that L’Oreal had called off its annual promotional event during the festival.

But yesterda a spokesman at L’Oreal said “On the eve of the Cannes festival, to which I want to reiterate our attachment…these stars of world cinema have agreed to represent our brand.”

So it looks like we will get to see the L’Oreal girls on the red carpet after all, maybe with new girls Freida, Evangeline and Elizabeth.

I much prefer the newer pictures of Katie Holmes for Miu Miu. Which makes me wonder why they released the worst one first.

The clothes are better, and she has more life in her cat eyes.

Miu Miu said that the inspiration behind the campaign, was set out to portray Katie Holmes as ‘a luminous icon radiating a sense of mystery and theatricality.’

Although these pictures are better, I still don’t think – as young Katie is – that she fits the Miu Miu brand. When I think of Miu Miu I think of young, quirky and Chloe Sevigny.

The photography was done by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
