Clemence Poesy In Michael Kors & Anne Berest In Chanel Couture – Deauville American Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Clemence Poesy In Michael Kors & Anne Berest In Chanel Couture - Deauville American Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Clémence Poésy and Anne Berest walked the red carpet together at the 40th annual Deauville American Film Festival opening ceremony in Deauville, France on Friday (September 5).

The twosome were certainly a sight to behold.

Clémence Poésy: The French actress completely surprised me by wearing a mannish Michael Kors Fall 2014 number, consisting of an oversized silhouette manifested in a dark long jacket, white blouse and micro-printed pants. The question that still remains in my mind was whether this was slouchy-chic, or just plain slouchy.

Anne Berest: She also ripped a look straight from the runway, except hers was a far more formal design, yet no less bold in nature from Clémence’s unorthodox outfit.. The highly decorative Chanel Fall 2014 Couture gown featured an abstractly printed black-and-white ball skirt contrasted by an intricately woven bodice and a hint of glitz via the doorknocker pendant detail.

It’s an unlikely pairing of styles, but they actually seem to coordinate on some level. What do you make of the duo?

There are only a few people who can pull off those looks. It just so happens that Clemence and Anne are one of those people. I also love the mannish vibe that Clemence’s outfit exudes.

At first glance, I thought this was an Olsen standing next to Sigourney Weaver. Having said that, yes to Anne and no to Clemence.

    Both approaches are typical French
    – Clemence is not taking the whole red carpet thing very seriously which is very French (and she looks great)
    – Anne is wearing Chanel one of the biggest French brands – in a typical Chanel gown (i.e. understated, not too glamourous, no fishtail, not too body con) – she looks very chic and I would have in the BDOTW poll

This is soooo spot on! I am french myself and I agree 100% with your comment.
I would have both of them for BDOTW.

Clemence looks awful. The shoes don’t work, everything is a mess.

I love both looks. Effortless chic at its best.

I love Anne’s look. As for Clémence, well, I like it from the knees up. The pants hemline is all wrong and sandals should’ve been chosen instead of those fugly shoes.

    The Chanel look is lovely!

I prefer Anne’s look. Clemence looks sloppy.

    Not impressed.

I love the top of Clemence’s look, but am not so sure about the pants. I think the over-sized shirt and blazer would have looked so good if matched with a perfectly and tight fitted pair of smart blue jeans (for maybe a different occasion).
