Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior – ‘Two Days, One Night’ London Premiere

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior - 'Two Days, One Night

Marion Cotillard walked the red carpet at the ‘Two Days, One Night’ London premiere, hosted at Somerset House in England on Thursday (August 7).

The French actress was unsurprisingly dressed in Christian Dior with this LBD hailing from the Fall 2014 collection.

The draped, cold-shoulder silhouette with floral embellishment radiated with soft elegance—even more subtle given that the design was missing the sassier corset-inspired lacing.

Dior metal-accented statement heels added a bit of edge, while a wispy updo and berry lip were quiet finishes for this sophisticated yet pretty look.

Marion could’ve pulled off the runway dress. The commercial version is a little boring.

Love this look. For me, the somewhat messy hair ups the styling and removes it from the “ladies who lunch” category and puts it in the “wow, stunning” category.

I think she looks gorgeous – this was my choice for BDOTW.

  4. TeaAtTwo August 8, 2014 at 18:41 #

I would put the loose strands up but she looks pretty, elegant and charming.

you cant the dress isn’t designed to allow that

      • TeaAtTwo August 10, 2014 at 17:24 #

I meant the loose strands of hair.

I prefer the runway version but this is pretty. I just find most Dior pieces in general so boring since Raf took over.

You are apsolutely right! Everytime I see a Dior dress by Raf, I long for the times John Galliano was in charge….

Both versions are flawed and uninspired. The runway look is too trashy but coherent and her look is too boring and distracting. I hate the flower at the neckline. It looks all wrong, with too much going on at the shoulders.

She looks lovely. The dress is simple but very elegant. I prefer the runway version and was informed at Dior that is Marion’s version indeed what will hit the stores.

    • Lee Ann August 8, 2014 at 08:52 #

Marcel – I don’t know who or what Dior you spoke to but the runway version has been in Dior Sloane Street for 3 weeks . I tried it on last Saturday. Marion’s dress is not yet in the Store. I prefer the quiet simplicity of Marion’s because on me the runway dress had too much going on.

      • Marcel August 8, 2014 at 09:19 #

It is what I meant, Marion’s version still didn’t arrive at stores and it is more commercial I was told.
I like the original version as well, but I changed the white string to black.

        • Lee Ann August 8, 2014 at 14:15 #

Yes you are right the black laces would work better I bought the Army green dress with the light blue laces as the neckline worked better

Knowing how wrong ‘Marion + Dior’ can go, I have to say this is a great look. Nothing WOW, but great.

  8. Alex August 8, 2014 at 03:25 #

    I love its quiet elegance

Dior or not, I expected better from Marion. This is the type of nice-but-blah dress I’ve come to expect Jennifer Lawrence to pick.

Nice to see this beautiful woman look beautiful, period. All is well in the world.

I love this whole look. She looks sexy, sophisticated and pretty.

This is tres boring. Very lady who lunch

    • Sleepless in Chicago August 9, 2014 at 14:40 #

Boring does not begin to describe it. Why would a woman wear the same designer over and over and over? Does she herself ever get tired of it?

      • Lee Ann August 9, 2014 at 21:38 #

Eerrr. cause she is the face of Dior and is paid and is under contract to wear the clothes.

  13. Saudin August 8, 2014 at 00:37 #

The dress fits her perfectly; I like the bold sandals, just a different color maybe; the only thing letting this look down is the hair department

  14. Nat39 August 8, 2014 at 00:34 #

I don’t like the corset lacing on the runway version but some detailing on the skirt (a floral embellished pattern to compliment the one at the neckline would’ve helped), Marion’s plain version is a bit boring and the hair could’ve been neater, but it’s still a nice and simple figure-flattering look for her, liking the edgier sandal.
