Keke Palmer In Alon Livné – 2014 BET Awards

Keke Palmer In Alon Livné - 2014 BET Awards

Keke Palmer hit the red carpet of the 2014 BET Awards yesterday (June 29) at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE.

The actress wore a glitzy Alon Livné dress from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection with white Saint Laurent heels and very simple JLANI jewels.

While I’m usually not a fan of the ‘extreme peek-a-boo’ trend that’s happening on the red carpet right now, I’m really struck by this look.

The shape and metallic detailing are futuristic and striking and completely unique from everything else that is happening on the red carpet.

Sleeked back hair and barely there makeup are the perfect compliment to the look.

If the 2 low peek-a-boo holes were covered with the gold fabric, then yes. But this – no!

      +1

Can we call this the worst red carpet event of the year? It’s just one bad look after another. What kind of Lady Gaga hand-me-down mess is this? She looks like a back up dancer in a low budget sci-fi musical. Wait, she couldn’t be a dancer because it looks like she can’t move her legs properly wearing it. Big ol’ mess.

    • Agi June 30, 2014 at 14:52 #

TA… just one disastrous look after another.

    • Nat June 30, 2014 at 17:07 #

She looks so stiff that I wonder if she can breath

    • VirginiafromAmsterdam July 1, 2014 at 19:48 #

Exactly what I thought! All the looks where so tacky and cheap!

  3. Alina June 30, 2014 at 14:03 #

    No words for this.

  4. ValS June 30, 2014 at 14:09 #

I actually could have liked this look if Keke herself would have loved what she’s wearing. But she is looking so uncomfortable that I can’t get behind this. It’s a no.

  5. Christine June 30, 2014 at 15:08 #

    This is so horrid

  6. Nat39 June 30, 2014 at 15:35 #

The sheer parts are abysmal, she herself looks stiff and scared, and needed a gold sandal.

  7. Nicky June 30, 2014 at 15:36 #

I don’t see how she can move. I was okay with this until I noticed the two sheer panels in the skirt that take this into trash territory.

  8. Lanka June 30, 2014 at 16:03 #

Can you say haters, she looks great , she is 20 something years old, beautiful and has her own show , it’s a shame people just cannot say nice things, fashion is all opinions , in my opinion she looks great, she looks like a star.

  9. Marcel June 30, 2014 at 16:13 #

She looks like the receptionist of a Star Trek convention.
    This is horrendous and costumey.

  10. justme June 30, 2014 at 16:56 #

She looks nice from the waist up. That skirt…

  11. sophie June 30, 2014 at 17:58 #

Keke went from the stunning, fresh off the runway Antonio Berardi to THIS B-List tacky designer???

  12. magan June 30, 2014 at 18:35 #

One question: Can she sit with this dress?

  13. amy June 30, 2014 at 18:37 #

this dress or whatever it is doesn’t belong to the red carpet. I would understand if it was a performance outfit, or a video clip getup but here it’s just wrong. nope.

  14. Yeliz June 30, 2014 at 18:47 #

Those sheer parts are just awful. This is so tacky.

  15. Dhppy June 30, 2014 at 19:14 #

Actually, if the white fabric on her shoulders were repeated in the cutouts at her hips, I’d like the dress.

  16. alvaro_spain June 30, 2014 at 20:34 #

WDOTY? So many contenders in this event!

  17. dee June 30, 2014 at 21:08 #

    This dress is awful.

  18. Phoenix June 30, 2014 at 21:13 #

awkward cutouts. would of been a fascinating dress if the sheer was lined.

my god. why are these black women so vulgar? the BET red carpet always delivers the tackiest looks of the year.

    • moonbeam July 1, 2014 at 01:31 #

I feel really sorry for you if you’re “black” as you claim (but I don’t believe it). You need a therapist. And you should try to control your arrogance.

      • Prudence July 1, 2014 at 01:39 #

wtf? how am I being arrogant and why do I need therapy Moonbean?

    • moonbeam July 1, 2014 at 01:35 #

The next time Miley Cyrus wears something trashy I would love to see if you have the nerve to type something like “why are these white women so vulgar?” I bet you won’t because its seems very likely that you have something against black women and your comments are disgusting. I wish FC would ban your comments.

    • Gemma Rockets July 1, 2014 at 02:24 #

That’s an offensive and inflammatory statement. I don’t think RCFA is the platform for such a viewpoint.

    • Jen July 1, 2014 at 02:34 #

what the hell? please take your racist attitudes some place else.

    • Catherine Kallon July 2, 2014 at 07:38 #

      Prudence,

Please can you stop with the ‘these black women’ comments.

While you may think it is OK to say so just because you are black, it reads like you are racist, because no one can see you are black.

Beside, that doesn’t really make it OK.

      Regards Catherine aka FC

  20. Gemma Rockets July 1, 2014 at 02:27 #

If the nude panels in the hips were white instead this would have been an awesome look.

  21. Jen July 1, 2014 at 02:31 #

She looks deeply uncomfortable, so I can’t say she’s pulling this off. Can anyone? I don’t know. I don’t even like it on the model.

  22. Peony July 1, 2014 at 03:20 #

Just awful. I’m guessing she spent the entire event standing up?

  23. Effy July 1, 2014 at 10:28 #

She looks really uncomfortable and so tacky, and is sad because she is such a pretty girl and can definitely do better.

  24. Amanda July 1, 2014 at 15:31 #

She didn’t have to do this, the cut-outs are not flattering at all and very unnecessary. She’s only 20 years old. It’s disappointing because her initial success was built on being a talented teen actress who capitalized solely on her intelligence, wholesome image and great acting skils, not on being overly “sexy” or vulgar. Of course she has every right to make her own fashion statement and she is at the age where she will want to experiment a bit. But the fact that she looks uncomfortable might suggest that this isn’t the real Keke.

  25. Amanda July 1, 2014 at 15:36 #

It looks awful on the model too, BTW. It’s just the lower cut-outs that don’t work on Keke. The top is ok, and with a coloured sandal and different bottom half she would have looked fine.

  26. Larissa July 1, 2014 at 17:46 #

This kind of reminds me of Kendall Jenner’s outfit from a few weeks ago http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2014/06/16/kendall-jenner-fausto-puglisi-kylie-jenner-2014-muchmusic-video-awards/ , maybe showing your hip bones is the new trend. Anyway exposed cleavage, legs and hip area is a bit too much for my own taste.
