Cate Blanchett added a vibrant hit of colour to the BAFTA LA Awards Season Tea Party held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverley Hills yesterday (January 11).
Cate’s red button-up Michael Kors Spring 2014 dress with puffed shoulders was simple yet impactful.
I like the fact she didn’t over-dress for this event but still remained true to her stand-out style.
I’m so relieved to see Cate style this everyday style dress with Christian Louboutin blue python ‘Pigalle’ pumps. They add a much needed hit of glamour and edge to the look.

I’m glad she changed the shoes, but am not sure about these ones either.
Well done, I think the belt makes it interesting and the color and shoes pull it all together into a strong yet event appropriate statement.
Nothing too much, demure yet exciting with the vibrant colour and unexpected contrasting blue pumps – good event-appropriate choice. However, I find the way the belt is presented unfortunate. I understand it’s intentional but it’s just sloppy, unnecessary distraction.
I find this very pretty for a tea party. The shoes are amazing.
Perfect dress for a tea party!
This dress is fantastic! Compelling and demurely subversive; restrained feminine power — And the way the model wears the belt just MAKES IT (homage to phallic symbols everywhere!!!)Best thing Kors has ever done. I went to 4 websites trying to find out the name of the designer…
Love the shoes.
School marm. Puffed sleeves? Nice on Anne of Green Gables. On Blanchett, not so much. The only thing I like about this is the dress color. Disappointing.
+1
+ 1. Too matronly looking and very unflattering.

Liked the color combo
Very event appropriate indeed
I like it a lot
The blue shoes are a very nice finishing touch
Agreed!
I agree.
+3. She’s a dream.
Much better than her last look but nothing exciting.
I agree. I think a different belt or a clutch would have made this better.
