Taylor Swift In Julien Macdonald – 2013 American Music Awards

Taylor Swift played the ultimate golden girl on the red carpet of the 2013 American Music Awards, hosted on Sunday evening at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The five-time nominee gave us the Midas touch in a Julien Macdonald Fall 2013 mini-dress. The itty-bitty party frock featured a nude-illusion lining at the bodice that was added post-runway. It wasn’t as illusive as I’d like. But the waist-cinching belt was still present and accounted for.

The leggy, metallic moment was only magnified with shiny, matching Jimmy Choo ‘Madison’ strappy sandals.

Messy, bedhead waves, a bronze-tinged smokey eye and nude lip, instead of her signature red, added a smoldering note to the full-on sizzle.

Does she prove that all that glitters really is gold?

Ugh Julian MacDonald is soooo passé. His last collection was all over the place and it’s the same thing every season. Yawn.

Uber sexy, I love it and Taylor is perfection wearing this look. I don’t think she’s an attention seeker since, clearly, she has turned into a humongous star and she drags attention on her own.

    Your problem being…?

dont like the dress but her bodyline is amazing! Love her shoes. still my favorite look from last night. She’s wearing gold sequin dress for the last years @ amas, it’s kinda deja vu but she keeps the details different every time.

I like that she kept it classy with a flesh panel on the bodice, it could have gone WAY trashy if she’d skipped that. A little too short I think, given the top, but, it’s ok…

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore it way better (Glamour photoshoot with One Direction). Taylor here is nothing but a cheap copy of her look to be honest.

Great look from her. She looks very beautiful.

awwwhh taylor, i love you but what is this dress, and the hair?! and the nude lip and her washed out haircolour are just not working for her.

  9. Denise November 25, 2013 at 08:44 #

I think she is perfect here. I like her sexy phase, because she keeps being classy.

It is a good look, but I can’t get past the “not so sheer” panel. It breaks the dress apart in my eyes. On the other hand, I love her hair and accessories.

I don’t know why but I think taylor’s lately femme fatale look doesn’t fit her at all, I mean, she looks great but I don’t buy her new “grown up woman” look.

    I like the shoes.

I appreciate what she is going for with this look but the matching dress, shoes and hair it is a bit much for me. Maybe if her hair was up I would like it more?

I really like this. The AMA red carpet has been pretty disappointing so far, but this is classier and more interesting than a lot of the other glitz-and-glitter dresses while still retaining the attention-grabbing element music award shows are known for.

      This!! To a tee!

  15. Lila November 25, 2013 at 01:59 #

This is gorgeous! It is like micro short yet she manages to keep it from looking trashy which is an accomplishment all in its self. I don’t really like the illusion panel but whatever. From the stage it wasn’t as noticeable. The hair is gorgeous and as is typical for Taylor, the styling is perfect.

My favorite part is that she is wearing a new designer for her. Julien Macdonald can be a little risqué but he also has some gorgeous things so I’m glad a big artist like Taylor is giving him some attention.

This is too déjà vu for me and the illusion panel is bothering me.

    • Alina November 25, 2013 at 08:46 #

ITA. Nothing we haven’t already seen on her at least 10 times.

  17. AW November 25, 2013 at 01:52 #

The illusion lining is a major fail but I can appreciate the desire for modesty. I like the dress and shoes.

The hair is very “late 90s mom”. I think she needs a color change or short sassy pixie cut.

  18. Princess Chi Chi November 25, 2013 at 01:52 #

I can’t ignore that shocking illusion panel, honey you’re not fooling anybody. Such an attention seeking look.

  19. NooG November 25, 2013 at 01:50 #

The illusion lining is an absolute fail. It would’ve been a good look if it wasn’t for the lining or if there was a better job with the lining.

That’s bothering me too. Although I don’t like the dress very much to begin with.

      thank you!
