Diane Kruger In Alberta Ferretti – Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

Diane Kruger In Alberta Ferretti - Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

After arriving in Venice earlier in the day, Diane Kruger attended the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner celebrating its 180th anniversary at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy yesterday evening.

As the face of the brand, the actress of course wore a classic Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece with her deep-purple Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 three-quarter-sleeved velvet gown – which is the strongest signal yet that summer is coming to an end.

I don’t remember the last time I saw Diane wear such a dark colour. I would’ve said this gown was perfect for a brunette, but Diane proves me wrong. She really got into the spirit of the look by matching her dark manicure to her gown.

I’m sure you’re glad Diane didn’t follow Sarah Gadon’s lead by matching her lip colour to her dress; instead Diane opted for a shimmering pink lip colour, wearing her hair back to showcase her stunning star drop H. Stern earrings.

She looks great, but I’m not wowed. She’s Diane Kruger at a film festival and I really wanted to be wowed.

ITA. She looks beautiful enough, but this is not the “Diane Kruger at a film festival” I know and love.

I don’t like the fabric of the dress, too heavy, especially in summer.
*but I like the color and her easy styling is working.

      I agree.

She looks good and I like her styling but this dress i waaaaay to heavy for early september in Italy. Season-inappropriate.

I love this on the model. Diane’s styling and accessories are a bit all over the place.

Not for my taste.Such a matron look. Reminds me the housekeeper in the movie Rebecca.

too somber and too haevy for still summer.love the color, but she cld do so much better then this medieval look

She looks beautiful and classy as always, I love velvet and I like deep purple, so I think this dress is a good choice.

I personally don’t mind the velvet, probably because I love velvet. And I do think that she styled this perfectly – the overall effect is dramatic and opulent. IMO, she looks fantastic.

So totally agree! And I love that lip color with the deep purple. Ravishing, natch.

Shame about that black background, it deadens everything. Let there be light. That’s why I love the Oscars in LA — you can actually see the dresses on the RC in natural light. Anyway, I adore deep rich shades of purple. I just wish I could see this look better, I think I would love it.

far too matronly. Idk whats happening at the festival this year but I have yet to be remotely wowed.

This is a great dress needs lighter background for max contrast. If you’re tanned this is probably not for you.

The gown does feel a bit too sombre and heavy for the season and I’m missing the waistband, it completes the look well. But I can’t help but like it anyway – the silhouette is beautiful and accents her smaller waist and I like the richness and depth of the purple velvet esp. with the full skirt.

She looks beautiful and I love the drama and opulence of the look but I wish had been worn in november rather than the last throes of summer.

This feels so much like a period drama costume that IMO it just begged for an intricate updo. The severe hairstyle she opted for is what keeps me from liking this look.
