Vanessa Kirby In Michael Van Der Ham - Jameson Empire Film Awards 2013

London’s newest fashion IT girl is Vanessa Kirby.

She was the darling of London Fashion Week and it looks like she took plenty of notes judging by her colourful look at the Jameson Empire Awards, which took place in London on Sunday evening at Grosvenor House.

Donning an eclectic ensemble by the master of mixed prints, Michael van der Ham, the actress wore a hand-printed brushstroke blouse with an abstract floral-print skirt covered with iridescent sequins from his Spring 2013 collection.

Most stars would settle for the double dose of standout prints, but Vanessa added yet more colour and flair to her look with a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood embroidered ankle booties.

An L.K. Bennett clutch and Fiya Jewellery ring accessorized her look, with golden wavy tresses, kohl-rimmed eyes and glossy lips providing the finishing touches.

I have a feeling Solange Knowles would give this mixed-printed look the thumbs up; I certainly am.

Love these prints together! The blouse is especially gorgeous. My only wish would have been for the skirt to be a tad shorter. With the fab shoes covering so much of her foot and the skirt length, she looks just a smidge stumpy.

I don’t like the top or the shoes with this. The model’s version is more refreshing and way better.

The blouse doesn’t go with the skirt, and the booties are def. an overload and competing with the skirt. Wish she’d gone for a more runway-inspired look.

    Thumbs up from me too.

I much prefer the runway blouse with the skirt, in fact I love the model’s blouse. The shoes are also too much.

She looks incredible. Its all about prints this season so the more mix the better. Certainly not overkill. Looking the best ever.

THIS is the way to mix prints–with plenty of quirk but also simple silhouettes and harmonic tones. I love the print of the skirt, the shape of the blouse, and the shoes especially.
