Mark Lee, Barneys New York CEO, hosted a dinner party to celebrate jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth yesterday evening in New York City.
Allison Williams, who continues to be the most in-demand star on the red carpet at the moment, was in attendance wearing a Sachin + Babi Fall 2012 dress.
Perhaps inspired by the runway, the actress styled her metallic-grey-and-black leather peplum dress with black pumps.
I wish that she’d also taken a cue from the runway and added a belt to her look.
I should be drooling over her stunning Irene Neuwirth fire-opal earrings, but I’m too busy missing that waist-defining belt.

Stellar, even if the belt is missing. I can’t believe she’s only five-foot-five. Her stylist really knows how to flatter her figure.
+1
I do miss the belt. it’s dull without it.
It’s nice as it is. I’m ok the belt being gone though it would’ve been good with it. The shoes are fine, though a dark silver wedges or pumps would’ve been cool.
In the 2nd photo- is that an advert for the stunning earrings or her amazing locks?
She looks fine–agree about the belt. But those earrings are amazing.
She looks fantastic once more!!!!!! I only wish she’d kept the belt. The earrings, though, are fantastic. BDOTW-worthy!
The dress definitely needs the belt
Agree. But it’s a great look either way.
the earrings are nice, but i don’t like the hair-behind-the-ears thing. it looks like she is a straight A’s schoolgirl. an updo would’ve been a better choice to showcase the jewlery.
A belt would have perfected this look, but I think she looks amazing nonetheless. I love her hair and those earrings are gorgeous.
I miss the belt too but I think it would have been too much with the earrings . I would have ditched the earrings worn a bely and worn shoes perhaps in the colour of the earrings.
Even though I miss the belt too, it’s still a stunning look. Oh, these earrings!
Call me cranky, but I am getting increasingly annoyed by celebrities promoting jewelry without bothering to choose an outfit and hairstyle that complement the items to be displayed. The earrings are magnificent but don’t work well with the dress.
I suspect that the combination was even more jarring with the belt on and that led her to omit it. The result is that great earrings and a very nice dress are brought down to the level of “just okay.”
