Jessica Chastain In Armani Privé – 2013 Oscars

2013Oscars_JessicaChastain

As one of the first stars on the 2013 Oscars red carpet, Jessica Chastain stunningly kick-started this evening at the Hollywood & Highland Center’s Dolby Theatre in California.

After her electric appearance in a cobalt blue Roland Mouret dress at the BAFTA Awards and a red Alexander McQueen design at the SAG Awards, the ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ nominee explored the other side of the colour spectrum today.

She wore a nude Armani Privé custom gown that screamed movie star.

This look unapologetically oozed old Hollywood glamour, especially with Jessica’s soft side-swept waves and her saturated ruby lip.

Normally with her fair skin tone and flame-red hair, this flesh-coloured, monotone palette could be problematic. But the subtle, sequin shimmer of the gown mixed with the bold lippie and the sparkle from Harry Winston diamond earrings and a ’60s-era Harry Winston bracelet pull it all together.

I’m glad she didn’t wear a necklace, though, as that would have cluttered the sweetheart neckline of this simply elegant gown.

    SNOOZE FEST.
If this dress was green it would make a world of difference. I am so bored by this is unbelievable. GIVE UP THE STRAPLESS NUDE DRESSES HOLLYWOOD.

+3 I’m so over strapless dress like this one. This dress reminds me of the Anne Hathaway dress from the 2011 Golden Globes, just not strapless.

Love, love, love! This is how you do classic bombshell. I love that silhouette, and the color is flattering and actually doesn’t wash her out at all.

YES! I LOVE IT! She looks absolutely stunning and I don’t mind that she doesn’t have a clutch, in fact going clutch less enhances the look. Flawless. FC did you get the chance to see her in person?

Pretty and safe. Color, fit, dress, makeup, are all good but not fantastic. I must say, FC’s look has got me the most excited thus far!

It’s hard to not compare this to last year’s look. I’m happy to say that I’m wowed by both! This look is gorgeous, well fitted, and very Old Hollywood! Surprisingly it does not wash her out (although, not gonna lie–imagine this in emerald or royal blue?). Great look for Jessica. Glad she got it right!

Stunning! Her best look. The color is different and work perfectly on her with that beautiful red hair. She can work a red lip. This is the dress of a winner! *fingers crossed*

It’s certainly a beautiful dress, and she is, of course, beautiful. But I’m a bit disappointed. It blends so much with her skin tone and just makes her look all over pale to me. The bright red lip accentuates that impression. More color please?

She is pretty and elegant as always, and her hair and makeups are flawless, definitely, but same as others, I prefer her oscar dress from last year. There’s nothing new to be wowed at.

She’s perfection from the neck up.
It’s not that I don’t like the dress but it’s safe and I really hoped she would wear some colour tonight.

    A bit disappointed.

She looks beautiful, I like the design of the gown, but that color should be changed by a bold one. that nude, beige or whatever is called is ugly

At first glance I was a bit disappointed by an other nude strapless gown. But I’ve come to really love the look. Hair & make up are flowless and the fitting of the dress is perfect. The subtle details on the dress and the shine makes it special. Jessica does hollywood glamour like no one else. Glad she stuck to her own style.

My favorite tonight, the bronze undertone works so beautifully with her coloring, and her minimalist presentation is spot on – much love!

This dress is NOT nude, it is copper. I saw it live and heard Chastain’s explanation of the exquisite detail of this superb Armani Prive creation. That beautiful color is a stunning complement to her hair. My best dressed so far.

I wish she had opted for a jewel-tone gown, but she still looks beautiful. I like this look and I love Armani Privé.

I love it… She oozes glamor and yet looks elegant. It is a predictable gown, but it looks great on her.

A very safe look indeed, but SO stunning! A well-fitted gown and flawless hair and makeup makes me love this look a lot. Definitely on the best dressed list.

I agree with others who say they are over the muted color trend. But this look is pretty good, I have to say: the super-strong red lip prevents it from looking washed out. The dress itself is really pretty and fits her well, thankfully not sitting too low on the chest. It’s a thumbs-up for me!

i just don’t know. yes, she looks beautiful but for me it was nothing special like what she did last year. last year was electrifying. this reminds me of something anne hathaway wore before at the oscars and that was armani prive too if i remember correctly. i expected so much more from her but she’s glowing nevertheless.

I thought it looked super boring on TV but it somehow looks even more blah on pictures.

Last year’s McQueen was so much better *le sigh*

The best look of the evening for me… But no matter how beautiful JC is and how classic old Holywood glamour never goes out of style, can’t help not being a little disappointed by the whole red carpet this year…

Jessica can be hit or miss on the red carpet. I think this look is a hit! Everyone keeps calling this a nude dress, but to me it has a bronzy tone. I think it is a perfect compliment to her coloring, echoing the tone of her gorgeous hair, which for once is styled beautifully! I only wish she had pulled some of that beautiful hair over one shoulder. Definitely old hollywood glam done well! One of my best dressed of the evening.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the understated glamour. I prefer this on her than the blue at the BAFTAS. Top five best dressed for me for sure!

FC, didn’t Aishwarya Rai wear this gown (in a darker, copper colour) to the Oscars a year or two ago?? If not, both gowns look very similar.

Understated gorgeousness, perfect, wouldn’t change a thing. Such a relief, given the disaster she wore to the GG’s. Had chosen her for my best-dressed until I saw Stacy Kiebler’s stunning gown.
