Taylor Swift In Elie Saab – 2013 Brit Awards

Taylor Swift In Elie Saab - 2013 Brit Awards

Let me guess: you saw Taylor Swift in Elie Saab in the title for tonight’s 2013 Brit Awards and you immediately thought the popstrel was wearing an embellished gown.

With her MO, I wouldn’t blame you, but on this occasion she wore a sleek Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2013 gown – sans sequins.

The gorgeous black sleeveless gown with sheer panels in the shoulders and skirt was, however, accented with a gold belt for a touch of bling.

Smouldering without her signature red lip colour, the singer opted for neutral makeup with smoky eyes and a dark manicure.

Putting my Elie Saab bias to one side, she was one of the best on the night.

Lol, your guess was right FC, I thought she’s wearing another embellished ES gown. This look surprised me and I have to say I love it. It’s simple but amazing. Could be my best dressed of the night.

I think it’s great but I don’t see any different and exceiting from this look. And also I’m feeling like I’ve already seen this shape on her.

Finally, an Elie Saab done right. After the disaster of Goya Toledo, I can only thank Taylor Swift……..She looks just perfect….

Flawless! Another BDOTW contender IMO. I always like her style, but sometimes she is too predictable and monotonous. This time she surprised me in the best way. This is perfection (and not white!!).

In my opinion, I find Taylor trying WAY TOO HARD to move away from her “country cutie” status. Granted, there aren’t any sequins and she looks great, but I am finding a lot of similarities in her and, say, in Selena Gomez right now.

I am all for fashion evolution, but this is too much for me.

Yes!! I was going to write the exact same thing on a Selena Gomez post.Their style doesn’t really Come naturally, trying to throw away the ‘good girl’ image so the request that every outfit has either slits, cut outs plunging necklines and are by ‘sexy’ ‘daring’ designers like Versace.

Here’s how I see it: Taylor has made the transition from teenager to adult quite gracefully and successfully (and not drastically at all) while Selena’s public image has yet to catch up to her. Selena is wearing designers like Atelier Versace, which is a bit too mature for her. A lot of her looks DO suit her, which is nice, but I find that Taylor is just more aware of what works for her.

Sadly, it’s a no. The sheer panels in the skirt do it in for me. If they were white (and though the sheer shoulder inserts are fine, they could have been white too for a chic modern look) I would love this look. She styled it well and everything, but I can’t like it because of that. :(

She looks good, but she’s starting to look the same in most of her red-carpet looks. I’m not surprised to see this from her. It’s another sexy, form-fitting gown.

I don’t like how high up the sheer panels go but she does look age appropriately sophisticated. And yes, the black does seem refreshing. Feels a bit weird typing that given that that’s so many stars wear too much black.

I don’t know where she stands now, (the cutie country girl or the sexy-not-trashy-yet girl). I bet she doesn’t know it either. Anyway she looks good.

Wowza! Those are killer shoes. I want to know who helped style Taylor for this event. She needs to keep them on the payroll.
