While her sister Beyoncé went for a black and white ensemble, Solange Knowles once again showed off her love of vibrant hues at Sunday’s 2013 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in California.
Donning a shiny and slinky, emerald-green Ralph & Russo Couture gown, she worked one of those ubiquitous, thigh-high slits to her advantage.
The structured cap sleeve of the dress added a jolt of quirkiness, as did those fluorescent coral-pink pumps.
But it was Solange’s extreme ‘do that really rocked this red carpet.

I love the big bold hair
The hair is a little out of control, but that’s her style. Love the dress and shoes.
I like the color combination and the hair but the lack of makeup is weird, it looks like she ran out of time getting ready. I understand not caking it on but she could stand to highlight some of her features for a more polished look.
Additionally, the shoulders are a little passe.
If the dress lost the shoulders this dress’d be a lot more sophisticated and I’d like this much more.

Wow, many girls wearing green tonight! I must say, I don’t love the dress, but solange’s styling makes the best of it. One of the better looks on the event (in my top 5 definitely) but she doesn’t hold a candle to Florence.
Obviously, I’m in the minority, but I am not liking the hair. Too out of control for me, it’s a distraction from her beautiful face.
I’m not a fan of the uneven hair myself.
However, I do love the gown, the colour and the cute shoe.

I am with you, I like her most of the times, but here its just more. And lack of makeup also, makes me like her look just neck down.

I love it. She looks edgy without being over the top. She has really cool style. Maybe Beyonce needs to move to Brooklyn and grow out dreadlocks to find great style like Solange.
I love her style. She’s not afraid of bold colors and quirky prints. I always enjoy seeing her on the red carpet. I especially love the hair here. Beyonce might be a star but Solange could teach her a thing or two about fashion.
This is also what I mean when I say you can wear a slit dress and not stick your leg out like crazy. See Angelinas and JLo’s of the world, you can do it.

Love the dress, especially the green hue. Shoulder pads belong in the 80′s and need to stay there.
I usually love her ‘fro but here it looks like she ran out the door in a hurry and didn’t have time to actually style it.

I agree with most of you–from the neck up it looks like she ran out of time. Her hair is messy, distracting, and out-of-control, and she could use some makeup. But from the neck down I’m liking this look! Her dress looks a little ill-fitting around her stomach but the dress is GORGEOUS, the colour is great on her, and I’m LOVING the pink pumps!!!!! Too bad she didn’t do anything with her hair and makeup–if she had, this look would have been near perfect
I do agree the afro is a bit out of control but Solange looks beautiful nonetheless.
I like the ‘fro but I wish it had been a bit neater. Going sans make-up seemed so confident and quite fashionista and she look as if she didn’t need it. I love the colours of the dress and the shoes. But the dress itself is nice but not a knock-out.
Great dress and it looks gorgeous on her, but I must agree: the hair is a bit out of control and the makeup is lack luster.
she is giving me ‘half-dead’ in these pics. Thumbs up for the color combo, sure. The hair though…I’ve seen her do the afro very well…this is NOT one of those times. Combine that with a barely there if at all face and it just comes off a little lazy-ish to me. Maybe even if there was a clutch or something to say that she tried.
