Alexa Chung attended the celebration of Chanel Fine Jewelry’s 80th anniversary of the ‘Bijoux De Diamants’ collection created by Gabrielle Chanel in New York City yesterday evening.
She wore a dainty cream dress from the Chanel Resort 2013 collection, with a voluminous skirt plus delicate floral embroidery on the bodice and cuffs.
As much as I love Alexa’s dress, I am always prepared to dislike her hair, her shoes, or both.
On this occasion it is the hair, which looks so straggly and of course unbrushed.
Her makeup, however, is beautiful and I love her Tabitha Simmons pumps.
Chanel diamond-encrusted earrings and a cocktail ring completed her look.

Why can’t she do something nice with her hair? This would have been a hit.

Let’s be honest… she looks very cute. The dress is lovely and the shoes are cute. Her hair is unbrushed but clean, what an improvement for her.

Feels a bit too young/girly but she wears this dress well. The hair is consistently a let down.
Definitely the best look from the Chanel event, the hair doesn’t bother me, it’s quintessential Alexa Chung, and at least her hair looks clean (unlike KStew).
My first instinct was to like the dress, probably bcause it has colour, because of the silhouette, and because, lets be honest, it’s chanel. In reality, however, the stuff on the front looks like a tissue paper collage made by a two year old. Very my little pony.
Her hair looks slightly less messy than usual, but just enough to add an edge to this look. The grown-up eye make-up helps to balance things out as well.

If it weren’t for the messy hair, this could have been a great look for her.
For what may be the first time ever, I would have said, “yes, this is a hit” about Alexa Chung…EXCEPT that she is a) too skinny b) posing awkwardly and c) did NOTHING about her hair.
