I had started to give up on Christina Hendricks, but she final found a figure flattering, chest covering look that was stylish and sophisticated for the ‘Ginger & Rosa’ premiere during the 2012 Toronto Film Festival.
The ‘Mad Men’ actress opted for a sleek Ports 1961 dress which had a side slit and magical waist-nipping abilities.
Gold accessories including a Jimmy Choo ‘Tube’ clutch plus Satori and Amrapali jewels perfected her look, with kohl-rimmed eyes, rosy cheeks and a pretty pink lip colour providing the finishing touches.
Do you feel this is a much improved look for Christina, or are you still unconvinced?

love the ahir, and all the gold made everything, beautiful dress and simple ,
i can say this black and gold and red hair great combination
This may just be the best she’s ever looked. The accessories are perfect and her makeup is stunning. Whatever she’s doing, whoever she’s working with, she needs to continue it. Especially with the Emmys coming up this month.
Ditto.
I agree to! Love the hair
I agree. Finally a flattering dress that that flatters her curves. She looks really good.
Much improved indeed!
I find that she looks even better in the black v-neck dress she’s wearing in the “Ginger and Rosa portraits” series when you click on the picture above.
I adore this, and it has to be one of the few times that she has looked truly modern, and has worn a fabric that isn’t draped, and isn’t wearing a cap sleeve. I usualy hate plain black clothes, especially in late summer, but because of her hair and the incredible accessories it all works, and feels seasonally apropriate and very glamorous.
Simple definitely works for her.
She looks nice here but she is so short waisted and busty that a dress with a v-neck or scoop neck would be more flattering. That crew neck makes her look blocky.
Agreed. She should find a medium ground between overly revealing necklines and overly chest covering ones. The neckline here is a bit too high for her, making her look blocky, agree. This isn’t working for her at all, only like this from the neck up.
Much improved, although her right hip appears to be jutting oddly. Still, this is so much better than usual.
“Magical waist-nipping abilities” — love that turn of phrase and completely agree. Love the accessories too.
OT, thank you so much for your fabulous NYFW coverage and for sharing what you wore each day.
thank you for all your comments…it was my pleasure…to London for part 2
Much better and sophisticated. Amazing earrings.
This is an improvement. Love the bag and earrings.
She looks stunning. That eye makeup is fabulous.
Definitely much improved. This is a perfect look for her. I love her make-up and accessories.
I don’t think she should cinch her waist that much, it gives her a weird silhouette almost unreal + it’s accentuated by the detail on the hip. Great accessories, hair & makeup though!
her makeup and hair are flawless. The dress is ok
her boobs look awful in this dress, like its going to explode
I thought I was the only one who’ve noticed it LOL
agreed, her body looks ridiculous in this especially her boobs, they’re absurd in this dress. idk what the rest of you are thinking
I’m still unconvinced, only like it from the neck up. The dress isn’t working well for her.
Yes, finally. She’s covered and she doesn’t look frumpy.
I am nearly convinced, the form-fitted dress is a major improvement and the black & gold is gorgeous. Her hair and makeup are beautiful, love the darker richer red hair. The difference between this look and her Mad Men stunning looks, is the corsetry. To control her amazing bosom you need the type of corsetry that holds them forward not sideways, then you get that Marilyn look. She also looks like she is wearing low-heeled shoes again, where higher heels would help enormously.
She’s gorgeous, but she looks frumpy in this. Is that a bow that sticking out in the back? Love her hair, makeup, and jewelry though.
