Maria Sharapova is turning her hand to the candy business, launching her Sugarpova brand earlier today at Henri Bendel in New York City.
The Sugarpova brand features twelve types of sweets which is said to reflects the fun, fashionable and sweet side of the tennis star, who not only named brand, but she also invested her own money into the project.
Unlike the poster for the brand, Maria opted for a less sugary approach to the launch today wearing a David Koma Fall 2012 dress.
Her sparkling silver glitter collar dress with a silver-and-blue sequined chain link-print was styled with blue Sergio Rossi suede pumps and Henri Bendel jewels.
I’m glad the collar is less ridge off the runway.
A purposely messy bun and a dark pink lip colour completed her look.
It’s interesting how Maria tends to favour London-based designers.

Cute, summery look for this event.
I like this a lot.
i like her version
Not doing much for me, tho I do like the shoes.
I like it a lot. Cute and fresh works much better for her than edgy. And on an unrelated note – Sugarpova? Really!?
DITTO.
Lolzz !
She looks nice although wish those blue pumps weren’t suede, it doesn’t quite work with the sequined dress.
Love the look, the pumps are perfect.
I really like this look. And, actually, I like the dress she wore for the poster picture too.
I love her look. Thank god for the blue shoes! I would’ve died if she was cliche.
I personally think Maria Sharapova is stylish and interesting. This business venture is quite the risky move.
Is it just me or does her makeup make her look angelic? Because I’ve never seen Maria look more heavenly, despite being naturally a beautiful woman, in the beauty department.
A.Dorable.
I like her dress in the advertisement, but the dress here just seems too constricting on her Amazon-like figure. I would love to see her in a draped sheath dress.
