British TV star Alexa Chung was also present on the red carpet at the ‘Celeste and Jesse’ premiere in New York City last week.
Known for her love of wearing designer labels like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Valentino, this time she opted for laidback, casual high-street separates.
Her summer in the city look consisted of a black denim playsuit which she wore over a Zara crystal-embellished blouse.
Alexa carried her favourite Topshop crochet shopper, which we saw her carrying last month during the Wimbledon tennis championships, completing her look with black Mishka sandals and a printed umbrella.
Do you like this laidback look, or do you think it’s way too casual even for an indie premiere?

Even though it’s too casual for a premiere, I’ll give her a pass if the whole group is dressing casual. (Already gave up on her hair.)
But, her shopper bag is really bothering me. Why does she have to carry such a big bag to a premiere? Seriously, what do you really need on a premiere red carpet? Umbrella? Ipad? 2 lbs wallet? Or SLR camera?
I’m so bored by her. She dresses like I did when I was seven. Not cute. At least she didn’t wear what the girl to the left did. That’s the only praise I can give this.
Lolz ! I know, atleast shez better than the others
I just don’t like her way of doing a laidback look.
I don’t like this look. At all.
I don’t like that playsuit and the big shopper, but what is really bothering me is the hair. Going with a casual outfit has nothing to do with going in public without brushing your hair.
Not necessarily too laid-back as people on both side of her are quite casual too. What I don’t like is how the style reminds me of clothes worn by 4-year-old girls.
If I have worn something better to the grocery store, then it has no business on a red carpet (even for an indie). And I know she loves laid back looks, but she is so much better then that hair.
I believe there is a maximum age to wear an overall, and the age is 10, otherwise you risk to look retarded…I don’t understand the fuss about this girl, to look different doesn’t necessarily means to look good…

Awful as always. She’s not elegant, graceful or stylish in any way.
In my opinion only one word can describe her. Overrated!
I cant remember that I have ever liked something she wore
Atrocious. Would it hurt her to try?
I’m sorry, but overalls as fashion=instant disaster!
The only think I like is the top. Her style is not impressive to me.
LOVELY!!!!!!!
LOL
That playsuit had no business being around that top, and that bag had no business being around either. I usually do like her signature looks, but this is so bad.
