2012 BET Awards

The 2012 BET Awards was held at The Shrine Auditorium in LA on Sunday evening with several stars taking to the red carpet.

Selita Ebanks: The model sported a sexy, futuristic look wearing a Falguni and Shane Peacock dress with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. The silver clutch doesn’t work for me, even with the silver bead work on her dress, but the rest of her look scores highly.

La La Vazquez-Anthony: The TV personality opted for a ‘Studio 54-esque’ look wearing a shimmering Lois London jumpsuit. Her top-notch styling included a vintage Versace belt, Jimmy Choo heels and complementary Loren Ridinger jewels. A side-swept ponytail completed her look.

Monica Brown: The singer looked sensational rocking a berry-coloured look which featured a structured blazer and sequin pants.

Kerry Washington: The ‘Scandal’ actress is usually the one I rely on to wow on the red carpet at the BET Awards; sadly that wasn’t to be on this occasion. Dressed in an Altuzarra bustier with a J. Mendel skirt, even her Jimmy Choo pumps, Elizabeth and James jewelry and a Stark purse couldn’t lift this look.

Tatyana Ali: Rocking an sexy asymmetrical bob, the actress donned a black mesh top tucked into a yellow-and-black peplum skirt which she styled with white pumps. Surely black sandals would’ve been the obvious choice here.

Meagan Good: The newlywed was still in bride mode donning a BCBG Max Azria white gown for the occasion. A Jimmy Choo clutch and neon-yellow nails completed the look.

Taraji P. Henson: The ‘Person of Interest’ actress wore a Zaeem Jamal ‘Blue Chakra’ silk-crepe cocktail dress with gold beading. I can’t say it’s my favourite look from Taraji. Her style took a bit a nosedive since her fabulous run during the 2009 awards season.

Michelle Williams: The former Destiny’s Child star opted for a nude Herve Leger bandage dress with lace accents. Black accessories completed her ‘should’ve done better’ look.

Angela Bassett: The actress kept it simple and chic wearing a lace Theia LBD with black peep-toes.
