Red Carpet Fashion AwardsRed Carpet Fashion Awards is a celebrity fashion website which chronicles the ensembles from runways to red carpet events around the world.
Karolina Kurkova wins no question. I had a few other favorites too. Rooney Mara was my second favorite. I thought others tried to do Givenchy, but she was the only one who wore it so beautifully. I loved Cate Blanchett in my favorite designer of all times. Loved Carey Mulligan so much but wasn’t sure it was enough for the Gala.
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. Hands down. You look at the collage of pictures and she just stands out from the rest! Even for me someone who so hates Rachel Zoe, I couldnt help voting for the truth.
Even though I would’ve LOVED to know what you thought about these interesting looks: M-K.Olsen in The Row, Constance Jablonski in Ackerman, Arizona Muse in Erdem, Chanel Iman in Tom Ford, The Clarins girls n Thierry Mugler, Rosario Dawson in Calvin K, Astrid frisbey in Chanel Couture … Hats off for your coverage FC! Fantastic job! Yesterday you got me hooked on your blog all day long! It was a great day for fashion and I really enjoyed the readers’ mobilization for the event 😉
I voted for Diane Kruger. I was so looking forward to see her at the Met Gala and she didn’t dissapointed me. She looked flawless.
And this is the rest of my Top 10:
2.Katharine Phee
3.Nina Dobrev
4.Claire Danes
5.Ashley Greene
6.January Jones
7.Christina Ricci
8.Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
9.Solange Knowles
10.Emily Blunt
FC I waited for this post to say thank you. I really appreciate your hard work every time you post here but since two days you’re just working on this blog without getting enough sleep. Thank you for this amazing coverage. You truly deserve a best fashion blog award! Now just go rest or do what you want but please go out and enjoy the life outside even if it’s raining in London. I can even understand it when you don’t feature anyone until Friday. 😀
I am not super crazy about all the outfits this year, I liked last years better but there are a few standouts! I can’t decide!! It is too hard. Btw Fashion Critic, I am in love with all your favourites atm!! I want each and every one! 🙂
Catherine, thank you so much for your completely amazing coverage of the Met Gala. You were outstanding once again and I really appreciate your effort as Im sure we all do. I hope you got some rest or will have some now. I also hope you had a great time guest blogging for Net-A-Porter 🙂 lots of love, Jess.
I think you should have included the lady who wore the jewel tone Haider Ackermann number which was splendid and Lea Michelle in her sparkly Diane von Furstenberg dress. Sorry to say your poll doesn’t depict the best dressed of the night, far from it.
Amanda, there are 14 pages of looks featuring more people than most publications.
I had 3 hours sleep over two days. I tried to feature everyone, but it is not possible. After looking at over 2000 pics you tend to miss things when exhausted
Lauren, Amanda has no idea what goes into making a blog. The fact that she didn’t even share her ‘better list’ proves her comment didn’t need dwelling over.
Dear FC, I’m really Sorry for my mean spirited comment. After all the work you put in your posts and your blog on the whole, I realize I shouldn’t have come down on you so heavily.
I guess where we clash is in our respective taste picks. Some of the ladies that I would select are simpler dressed yet elegant. It’s really not your fault who you picked for your poll from the night, the turnout of outfits this time was very disappointing.
Here is my list:
Nancy O’Dell in Zac Posen.
Constance Jablonski in Haider Ackermann
Lea Michele in Diane von Furstenberg
China Chow in vintage Jean Paul Gaultier.
Karlie Kloss in Jason Wu
Tamara Mellon
Sarah Brown in Antonio Berardi
I can only imagine all the hard work it takes to run a fashion blog with the constant updating and making a living out of it, and quite frankly, I salute you! I visit your blog daily as a form of habit, and I really wouldn’t like to upset you and cause bad vibrations so please forgive me and thank you for your hard work. In your place I would have given up blogging in no time, so I praise you for your dedication and drive.
Oh, decisions decisions. This will take some deliberation. I also liked Laura Carmichael in Emilia Wickstead, though that outfit desperately called for some serious statement jewelry.
Top 5: 1) Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren 2) Renee Zellweger in Emilio Pucci 3) Linda Fargo (coat) Naeem Khan 4) (tie) Katharine McPhee in Elie Saab/ Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier 5) Claire Danes in J. Mendel
The rest of the Top 12 or so in no order: Leslie Mann, Marion Cottiard, Jessica Stam, Florence Welch, Gisele Bundchen, Laura Carmichael, and Karolina Kurkova (sans turban)
Thanks FC! You do so much work and we gleefully reap the benefits.
Where`s Dianna Agron? Her dress deserves to be on this poll.
So many beauty dresses in this amazing night, it`s so hard to choose. I may go with Karolina or Rosie.
Thanks so much for this 12 pages coverage from MET Gala this year.
And I’m happy with your picked, but i’m missing Jessica Alba and Ashley Greene in the pool.
It was a three way tie for my favorite: Christina Ricci, Anna Wintour (loved the nod to Schiaparelli), and Carey Mulligan. Since the first two didn’t make the poll, it made my vote easy this time.
I actually liked quite a few of the gowns at this year’s Met. Unfortunately, none of my personal favs made the cut and the current winning entry reminds me of Celine Dion – so I’ll be voting Katherine McPhee. Thanks FC for the awesome (& extensive) coverage, another job well done!
I had a hard time in choosing who is the best. For me they are all best with their dressed, they looked very gorgeous and fantastic. I really enjoy these post, love it!
There were some gorgeous contenders. I actually loved Gwyneth Paltrow, as well, and I’m surprised she’s not here. But nobody. NOBODY. could hold a candle to KK in that gold number. she was like the walking definition of “supermodel goddess”
Wow! The ladies did not disappoint at the gala. So many amazing looks! They really turned it out and showed why the Met Gala is fashion’s Oscars (and fashion-wise why it’s soooo much better than the Oscars).
I would love to say I’m a fashionista, I do love fashion and see all the celeb looks on this blog. But this showcase might mean I’m not a fashionista at all, maybe my taste is too conservative and common. Let’s just say I dislike all the looks, they look either plain horrible or sleezy (I don’t enjoy seeing too much cleevage hanging out). There were so many beautiful dresses and looks, still you choose these distasful, atrocious looks? Seriously?! I must not know nothing about fashion at all… my idea of fashion is beauty. None of those dresses up there are beautiful. If being a fashion lover means having disgusting taste, then I’m out. Au revoir, fashionistas!
I agree with you mostly. I don’t get how Elizabeth Banks made it on the list with that monstrosity, but I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder. At least Gwyneth’s side-boob didn’t make it on here, but Dianne Kruger’s is. lol Of the ones here, I like Nina’s look, but I’d love to write-in Ashley Greene’s Donna Karan.
Such a fun event! Can’t wait till next year. 😉
why is everyone wearing dark lipstic, it is heduos , please make it stop
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. Hands down. You look at the collage of pictures and she just stands out from the rest! Even for me someone who so hates Rachel Zoe, I couldnt help voting for the truth.
Sofia Vergara , I do not know why she is not on the list
One of my favourites was Bianca Brandolini D’Adda in Dolce and Gabbana – did you see her, FC?
Even though I would’ve LOVED to know what you thought about these interesting looks: M-K.Olsen in The Row, Constance Jablonski in Ackerman, Arizona Muse in Erdem, Chanel Iman in Tom Ford, The Clarins girls n Thierry Mugler, Rosario Dawson in Calvin K, Astrid frisbey in Chanel Couture … Hats off for your coverage FC! Fantastic job! Yesterday you got me hooked on your blog all day long! It was a great day for fashion and I really enjoyed the readers’ mobilization for the event 😉
loved rihanna, anja rubik, and jessica alba
where is gwynie??? 🙁
and I forgot Candice Swanepoel!
where is Dianna Agron? Beyonce? Rihanna? they looked fantastic!
I voted for Diane Kruger. I was so looking forward to see her at the Met Gala and she didn’t dissapointed me. She looked flawless.
And this is the rest of my Top 10:
2.Katharine Phee
3.Nina Dobrev

Have a great day xx
I miss Dianna Agron here!
BALENCIAGA’S DRESS for KRISTEN STEWART is heinous! it’s a big joke! poor Kristen.
Thank you so much for the cover FC. I was refreshing your site every 2 seconds like a mad person! LOL You’re the best!
My vote goes to my girl Gwyneth Paltrow though
XXXX
FC thanks for the 12 pages of amazing coverage!! I had a great time checking it out 🙂
+1
Did you feature Karlie Kloss in her pink dress? I can’t find her on your site.
Yes. Model post
Thanks. 🙂
I am not super crazy about all the outfits this year, I liked last years better but there are a few standouts! I can’t decide!! It is too hard. Btw Fashion Critic, I am in love with all your favourites atm!! I want each and every one! 🙂
karolina kurkova, no contest.
2.camilla belle
3.solange
4.nina dobrev
5.kate bosworth
seems like every other publication has beyonce as the best dressed!
beyonce? really? I guess there are many different tastes… I love your selection!
No dianna agron? Or Ashley Green here? Or gasp Emma Stone?
The above are some of my favs along with Karolina and Nina D
The Met Gala is such a treat!! 🙂
Ah! No Florence!
Thank u xxx
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe, she look amazing divine.
I would Replace Diane Kruger with Jessica Stam. Then vote. Not seeing how Diane is in this poll. Baby bump or not is a bad outfit on a beautiful lady
I really loved Brit Marling’s look from the Met Gala. Had such a soft, princess-y vibe.
I think you should have included the lady who wore the jewel tone Haider Ackermann number which was splendid and Lea Michelle in her sparkly Diane von Furstenberg dress. Sorry to say your poll doesn’t depict the best dressed of the night, far from it.

Amanda, really? What a mean spirited thing to say
Lauren, Amanda has no idea what goes into making a blog. The fact that she didn’t even share her ‘better list’ proves her comment didn’t need dwelling over.

THANK YOU FC! Amazing work! 🙂
Don’t understand how, but you must have been blogging for over 24 hours!
This event is the biggest in my fashion calendar, beating the award season!
(Cannes is at the top as well but that’s several days of fashion heaven)
*can/should you vote more than once…*
Thank Vicky…I’m exhausted but I loved every second
Oh, decisions decisions. This will take some deliberation. I also liked Laura Carmichael in Emilia Wickstead, though that outfit desperately called for some serious statement jewelry.

Thanks so much for this 12 pages coverage from MET Gala this year.
And I’m happy with your picked, but i’m missing Jessica Alba and Ashley Greene in the pool.
I voted for Katherine because she needed my vote. Nina is going to win.
wow, i cant believe vergara didnt make the cut
No Rihanna in Tom Ford? 🙁
In her absence, I cast my vote for Diane Kruger.
Thanks again for your hard work FC!
It was a three way tie for my favorite: Christina Ricci, Anna Wintour (loved the nod to Schiaparelli), and Carey Mulligan. Since the first two didn’t make the poll, it made my vote easy this time.

My vote goes to Michael Kors for the 2 beautiful gowns he gave us… Too bad they’re not included in your selection, but I guess it was a tough choice.
I had a hard time in choosing who is the best. For me they are all best with their dressed, they looked very gorgeous and fantastic. I really enjoy these post, love it!
Karolina Kurkova 100%.
There were some gorgeous contenders. I actually loved Gwyneth Paltrow, as well, and I’m surprised she’s not here. But nobody. NOBODY. could hold a candle to KK in that gold number. she was like the walking definition of “supermodel goddess”
No Dianna Agron? Easily my best dressed right there
mine too! i would switch renee or bee shaffer for diana!
Ditto!
Definately! Lovely lovely dress, great cut and colour, and her hair and make up were gorgeous too 😀
Yes Dianna Agron! She was wonderful!
Dianna Agron! She is missing.
Otherwise, Nina Dobrev.
So sad to see Kirsten Dunst omitted from this list. She has my vote, but I guess I’ll have to choose an alternate.
Wow! The ladies did not disappoint at the gala. So many amazing looks! They really turned it out and showed why the Met Gala is fashion’s Oscars (and fashion-wise why it’s soooo much better than the Oscars).
I chose Nina fobrev but I would like to write in vote Christina Ricci.
http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2012/05/08/christina-ricci-in-thakoon-2012-met-gala/
Why…why can we only pick one? since there are so many gorgeous ladies. Anyway, my vote goes to the stunning Karoline Kurkova
Ultimate fav was gwyneth paltrow… She totally blew me away. Another one that caught my eye was emma roberts… Loved both of them…
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe. No Question. No Doubt. She rocked it!!!
I would love to say I’m a fashionista, I do love fashion and see all the celeb looks on this blog. But this showcase might mean I’m not a fashionista at all, maybe my taste is too conservative and common. Awwww, Katie, love, you’re taking it a bit too seriously!!
I voted for January Jones. I thought she was head-to-toe perfection, back to her stellar best. Necklace naysayers should have a look at the close ups.
Honourable mentions for Sofia Vergara, Kate Bosworth, Nina Dobrev, Jessica Alba and Emily Blunt. Such beautiful ladies all.
Fashion fails to Gwyneth and Anja – side boob and exposed hip bone do not make for Met magic.
And the biggest prize of all to our dear FC for bringing this to us in her inimitable style once again!
xxx
thanks. Glad you enjoyed it xx
Lot’s of great looks but it was Karolina who was centre stage for me.
Cate Blanchett is the best. Always stunning. I loved her black and her hair and make up ! Gorgeous.
TOP 5
Karolina K, Rosie H. W., Katherine McPhee, Nina Dobrev and Diane Kruger!!!
FC you’re amazing, keep up the great work!
Thanks…will do
