‘Gossip Girls’ Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick where in Shanghai, China, on Friday to cut the yellow ribbon to mark the opening of a new Harry Winston salon.
Leighton selected a pretty black Marchesa dress for the occasion.
Her off-the-shoulder lace dress with a grograin waist and voluminous tulle layered skirt was of course teamed with stunning platinum Harry Winston jewels which included a cluster diamond bracelet, diamond river earrings, a feather ring and a straight-line necklace.
Black Christian Louboutin ankle-strap pumps, tumbling glossy curls and a nude lip colour completed her look.
It comes as no surprise that Harry Winston invited Leighton and Ed to open this store since Ed’s ‘Gossip Girl’ character Chuck Bass once proposed to Blair Waldof with a Harry Winston 8 carat engagement ring set in platinum.

It’s a beautiful dress but she’s a little “long in the tooth” for such a sweet dress.

As beautiful as she looks, Im over Marchesa. They were once my favorite to see on the red carpet but every time I see something from them now, I get the sense of deja vu and this is no exception.
Whilst she looks cute, this look is meh, especially with those shoes. Usually Leighton is the Superwoman of Shoe Power, but not here.

Totally agree. Its look like something you get out of the prom selection at Macy’s or Jcpenneys.It’s pretty though.But I would have never guessed it to be Marchesa.
Pretty but a hair sweet on Leighton. It looked better at the ribbon cutting unposed.
This dress adds 10 pounds but it might be the low camera angle too that’s not doing her any favours plus the hairstyle

I’m strugglign here, earlier today I was thinking abotu how sad I was that there had ben almost no Leighton posts since the beggining of the year, and then I come home to one which I am finding it hard to love. I just don’t find this as modern or interesting as she usually is, and she has a tiny waist so I feel as though the waistband should be a little lower to show that off, and then of course the shoes. I don’t really want to comment on them, btu let’s jsut say she has been lettign us down in the shoe department this year.

Leighton looks very pretty here. And I agree with some of the comments that this looks is a bit tame on Leighton. But then it was a store opening in Shanghai, China. Showing in something edgier might have been looked upon as unacceptable.

With so much going on on the dress, you don’t really want a shoe that will distract from that. Maybe red shoes would have worked? That said, she looks beautiful.
Love the dress but not so much the shoes. Her hair looks good in the ribbon-cutting picture but not in the full-length. I want that dress!
