Upon arrival at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, prior to the Nina Ricci Fall 2012 presentation, we were met by a candlelit walkway which was very romantic as night fell in Paris.
Once we arrived in the venue we were once again seduced by the dim lighting and chandeliers which hung from the ceiling.
Peter Copping was inspired by a vision of a young girl exploring her mother’s and grandmother’s wardrobe.
She playfully mixes up, unpicks, re-sews and cuts up the pieces, presenting a contemporary collection of elegant items.
We saw a lot of tweed alongside silk, cashmere, silk chiffon, touches of fur and lots of sheer pieces.
Slip dresses and skirts were presented double splits with the right side lined. Sheer blouses were styled under chunky tweed skirt suits. Fur collars accented luxe wool coats and pencil skirts were worn low on the hips, as they would do if a young girl was playing dress up in mother’s clothes.
Key accessories included: lace-up boots, chic Mary Janes and a fur stoles with attached gloves.
I loved the bags. The ‘Smile’ was presented in patchwork python and quilted deerskin. The ‘La Rue’, which is a gorgeous grained calfskin or crocodile bowling bag will surely be a best seller, and the ‘VIP’, which is a bow-accented compact case decorated with coloured rhinestones which we will most definitely see on the red carpet.
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Kate Bosworth, Michelle Williams, Ashley Greene, Clemence Poesy, Keira Knightley, Freida Pinto, Naomi Watts, Kate Beckinsale, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston

It kind of does look like a girl’s exploring her mom’s closet…everything looks too big and kind of dated!
