Florence Welch In Alexander McQueen – 2012 Brit Awards Performance

Following her red carpet appearance at the 2012 Brit Awards in Alexander McQueen, Florence Welch also performed her hit single ‘No Light, No Light’, wearing a different McQueen gown.

Whilst her gown isn’t a runway piece, you can see it was clearly inspired by Look 31 as it has the same gold embroidered detail on the bodice.

The significant difference is the beaded chiffon sheer skirt and the sleeves, which makes for a more wearable performance look.

Florence is fast becoming the perfect brand ambassador for Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

It’s a beautiful working relationship, and I’m keen to see how this develops in the future.

I’m unable to pick a favourite of the two gowns, as both have exquisite details and Florence wears them equally well.

Which do you prefer?

Oh no! This gown is meant for the red carpet! It was on my wish list for this year’s Oscars! I’m shattered into pieces!

I prefer this gown, I think I just like the color better and also the combination of the sheer skirt and embroidered bodice.

This is like the ripoff Taylor Swift wore to the Grammy’s.

I wish they had kept the structured bodice and attached the floaty “Florence” chiffon skirt to that. It would have been much nicer.

I appreciate both dresses (extraordinary detailing and refinement), but feel surfeited by too many beige/nude/flesh-coloured gowns on the red carpet – so definitely prefer this look.

I’ve always liked her style, but the last two McQueen gowns fail to excite me. I’m not sure why. This one is way better than the last on, though. I think she’d look better in more colourful and bold patterns and sihouettes. FC picked out a look for her from one of the fashion shows she attended and I would love to see something like that on her.

This one by far, she looks fierce!

this is much better but why did she modify the gown? it was way better on the runway

This one over the red carpet one. But, i don’t like them all. i don’t think Florence aren’t the best ambassador for McQueen. She’s very much into valentino IMO.

Definitely this one! Her performance was very powerful as always and I like her on stage with gowns like this one.

This would be very gorgeous–the details are stunning–except for the sheer skirt, which I don’t like.

The one thing that she never seems to get wrong is her stage style. This gown is beyond stunning on her!
