Karolina Kurkova joined new mom, Beyonce Knowles, to celebrate Jay-Z’s second performance at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday night.
The model chose an edgy Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012 look for the occasion, in a burgundy knit/sheer dress worn under a leather skirt.
With both Diane Kruger and Karolina wearing this ‘skirt over a dress’ look on the red carpet this week, do we have a new trend on our hands?
Diane pulled off the risky look much more than Karolina, doesn’t really have the right attitude to make this look work.

As much as I think the the outfit & her hair & makeup are hideous, I cannot get over the ‘Liya’ shoes. They are just so utterly tragic. They are incredibly dated & so unflattering.

I like her make up, but the shoes are simply a DISASTER! What was she thinking?? Had she chosen complementary grey Camilla Skovgaard booties or something else edgy, I might have liked it, but with these shoes it´s a no go…

I thought Diane’s dress or skirt was one of the ugliest thing I have ever seen ! I kinda like this one, it doesn’t look like she wore a dress and then added a skirt on top of it which I felt with Diane’s outfit. She looks better then Kruger IMO but her shoes are atrocious unlike Diane’s great ones.

This look is a huge misunderstanding.
Total disaster.
Aside from the pointy monstrosities on her feet I think she’s pulling this look off well. It’s the down-town urban version to Diane’s pretty look.
I just don’t think that it is very attractive on either model. I like the concept of had and soft, but in my book, this just looks ugly.
Congratulations mystery stylist who put this look together, you managed to make a supermodel look terrible. Psssst Karolina, your stylist hates you!

I thought the mullet dress look was bad, but this skirt over a dress look is so much worse. Looks like an apron.

People are complaining about the shoes but I think they are the easiest thing to let go when you have such a disastrous eye catching dress.
Seriously I don’t think anyone can pull it off. You can easily tell when you see that not even the look book model manages to look good on it. Cut off the long sleeves and lengthen the gray skirt and then maybe I can think of it as wearable piece.
Oh, awesome–because awful shoes + awful dress + awful skirt some how equals fashion.

Did´t liked Diana dress and don’t like this one either. I think my brain is unable to process the whole skirt over dress thing. I hope this trend doesn´t stick.

I like hair and make up. The shoes are ugly and the dress… I kinda like A. Wang, but I also think that sometimes he designs very man repeller clothes, and this is one of those. This dress is one of the ugliest I have recently seen.

On Diane Kruger, this possible trend looked like she was wearing an apron, but here… it’s just tragic. The outfit just doesn’t make sense and the horrible shoes make things even worse. This looks is awful.
