It looks like it was a two-for-one deal over at Marchesa yesterday as Andrea Riseborough also wore a Marchesa dress on the red carpet for the New York premiere for ‘W.E.’.
The British actress joined Madonna by donning a look from the British design duo, by selecting a look from the Spring 2012 collection.
Her black strapless dress with floral embroidered details doesn’t get me as excited as Madonna’s more dramatic look.
I’m not a fan of the sheer skirt or its length. I think I would’ve preferred it cut just above the knee.
Andrea swept her strawberry blonde locks to one side as she completed her look with a Marchesa quartz clasp clutch and black point patent leather pumps.
It’s rare that I prefer Madonna over Andrea on the red carpet, but that was most definitely the case on this occasion.

I wish the skirt hit her where it hits the model, just below the knee. Her pose with her legs apart is ruining this for me.
This is one awkward mess of a dress, plus Andrea doesn’t have the chops to pull off a tricky design like this which makes me appreciate Madonna’s look even more (she totally pulled off her Marchesa).
Does anyone else think it’s weird that she and Madonna coordinated their outfits?
The Weinstein Company hosted the premiere, Harvey Weinstein is married to Georgina Chapman, Georgina Chapman designs for Marchesa…so no I don’t think it’s weird. Predictable, but not weird.
Dreadful–the dress looks like a Vegas showgirl. Love her hair and makeup.
Yet another Marchesa spring 2012 look fails to make an impression.
This dress seemed far more interesting on the runway, it looks terrible on her..
Beautiful, but I prefer the runway length.
Is it just me or does this woman look like a different person everytime I see her?!I actually really love this she can really rock a frock it’s a combination of grace and haughty confidence..side note saw W.E yesterday and her performance was exceptional should’ve nominated for an oscar.
Awful. Absolutely awful. I didn’t like this on the runway but off the runway it looks ten times worse! This is on my Worst Dressed of the Year list!
On Nyasha it looks great but on Andrea the skirt looks awkward, it should have finished at the knee. She’s working the top half though.
+1
I don’t like the shirt on Amber one bit but I like the look from the waist up, love her hair and makeup
I think that this look is as bad as Madonna’s.
I love her hair and makeup though.
she should’ve worn strappy shoes like the model
Looks alright on the model, but for some reason looks like it’s from 1984 on Andrea.
