Rooney Mara returned to the States on Tuesday evening to attend the 2011 National Board of Review Awards Gala in New York City.
Rooney’s one-night stand with colour appears to have ended, as the actress wore a Miu Miu Resort 2012 black cap-sleeved dress. Rooney adds to her monochromatic look with white pumps.
Now that we’ve seen the actress in that stunning Valentino red, this mod look falls flat. Even in comparison to Rooney’s previous simplistic looks, this feels especially lacklustre.
Perhaps she’s finally beginning to feel the pressure of this lengthy ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ press tour.
A lacquered side-parted bun and minimalistic makeup finish the look.

Her other simplistic looks were partially saved by the variety of cut-outs.
As I´ve said before, the overly restrictive minimalist style “assigned” to her for this tour reaches an absurd point. A few simple finishing touches (a thin belt, some simple jewellery) wouldn´t hurt, and there are other hairstyles out there besides the 2 constantly presented one after the other. Flat, bland, fail.
I agree, simple dress, ugly shoes, lifeless expression as usual.

It just screams for some earrings and/or a statement clutch.
Mostly I have loved all of Rooneys looks but not this one, it’s so shapeless where all her other minimal outfits have been much more perfectly fitted and have special details that work well for her. Also, I don’t like the shoes and that’s not always been perfect with her other outfits either.

i like most of her looks but i can’t help but notice she always looks awkward, just like kstew in her old days. and her posing doesn’t help.
The hair just looks greedy, the dress just boring and eyelashes look slightly spidery. Such highs and lows within two looks.

I agree that this look is rather lackluster and I also don’t like the way her eyelashes look.
