The 2023 Billboard Women In Music event was held at the YouTube Theater on Wednesday (March 1) in Inglewood, California, and you’re unlikely to see a more underwhelming red carpet this year.

I’m sure you are asking why, and I did for a nano second before remembering that she is in music albeit quite loosely via America’s Got Talent.

I’m furious that someone like Dita von Teese didn’t get her hands on this Miss Sohee Spring 2023 Couture look first.

This look needed someone with a lot more fashion prowess to prevent it looking like they are engulfed by a very bad rash.

Amber Grimes wore a Balenciaga Fall 2018 hourglass wool coat styled with a Chanel bag and red sock boots.

Becky G wore a Nicolas Jebran blue fishnet velvet and lace dress which I thought was from the Versace Spring 2023 collection, but then realised that it was the veil that led me down that path.

Becky got creative with this look as the veil was worn as a body shawl on the runway.

Controversially, I actually like this Giambattista Valli Fall 2022 Haute Couture dress on Chloe Bailey.

Considering her R&B roots, this style of dress feels like it could be homage to the women of Motown that paved the way for her.

I also greatly appreciate the undergarments which ensured this didn’t go down a tacky path.

Coco Jones also looked good in this sparkling Cucculelli Shaheen two-piece.

The gloves in the look book would’ve been interesting, but as we’ve seen a lot of opera gloves on the red carpet over the last two years I’m not disappointed by their exclusion here.

If Coi Leray’s Kenzo look had one more stripe, I would’ve mistaken it for Thom Browne.

I like the drapery on this Jacquemus gown, but some of the other details like the ruffle on the bust and the one shoulder detail left me unmoved, yet this was a better outing for Dove Cameron.

The shoes choice were too heavy, which is back to being the norm.

Where are those Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals when you need them?

Kim Petras’ stylist really let her down. This is just a mess. From the construction of the bodice to the unflattering layers.

Opera gloves can’t save this look.

Lana Del Ray tries to ease us into Spring with this yellow lace Zimmermann Resort 2023 dress, but the styling is terrible here.

Latto was probably the best dressed at this event.

I love the tonal styling and how this look was fun, and sexy without being naked.

Laura Marrano didn’t have the presence or the sex appeal to pull this Byblos Spring 2023 look off.

For me, you can’t go wrong with a Roberto Cavalli animal print gown, which Madison Beer showcases.

Olivia Rodrigo is the latest celebrity to dip into the archives wearing those Chloe Spring 2001 horse print trousers which I remember seeing all over Sloane Street back in the day.
