John Malkovich Makes Unexpected Style Statements in Venice
John Malkovich is at the Venice Film Festival promoting his upcoming film, Wild Horse Nine. Since starting this website in 2009, I have never featured John Malkovich. But trust two great fashion moments to change all that.

The Giuliva Heritage white blazer might be the most conventional part of this look, because the printed shirt, crossover tie and embroidered Bode trousers take things in a far more eccentric direction, before a pair of King Kennedy kilim-rug mules enter the conversation.
On paper, Giuliva Heritage and Bode sound like completely different ideas. On John Malkovich, somehow they make perfect sense. It’s an eclectic mix that suits him perfectly.
Premiere
And then we get to the Dior Fall 2026 suit, and I am screaming.
Firstly, because he looks so good. Secondly, because you can tell he is loving this fashion moment. And thirdly, because without that extraordinary pleated collar, this would lose all of its Malkovichness.
There is something slightly Shakespearean about it – as though Hamlet has finally found himself a very good tailor – but John has enough charisma to stop the collar from becoming the punchline.
Aside from Archie Madekwe and LaKeith Stanfield, John is the only other person I can think of who could sell this collar to me. You need a certain kind of presence to wear something this theatrical.
Seventeen years into RCFA, John Malkovich has finally made his debut. And with two looks in one day, he certainly made up for lost time. Hopefully, this will not be the last time.
