Michelle Monaghan’s Bevza Mermaid Bra Dress for ‘The Whisper Man’ Premiere

Michelle Monaghan is back in the spotlight promoting Netflix’s The Whisper Man, attending the New York premiere held at the Paris Theatre on Monday.

The actress wore a black Bevza Mermaid Bra dress, no doubt named for the contrasting white shell-inspired cups that give an otherwise simple column silhouette its defining feature.

I found this look really interesting because Michelle has never struck me as a quiet-luxury kind of woman. Her style usually has a little more bite to it, whether through colour, silhouette or an unexpected detail, so this feels like a notable change of pace.

But considering the mood of the film, the Paris Theatre setting and her co-stars Robert De Niro and Adam Scott, this feels like the right call. There’s still enough personality in the shell-shaped bodice to stop the black dress from feeling too pared back, while the clean silhouette allows that detail to do all the work.

For Michelle, it’s a different approach, but one that I like.
