Lexi Minetree attended the Prime Video world premiere of Elle in New York, serving up two very different pink looks for the red carpet and the after-party.

World Premiere

Lexi wore a custom Betsey Johnson gown designed exclusively for the occasion. Naturally, it was in Elle Woods’ signature shade of pink.

The strapless gown featured a corseted bodice embellished with embroidered florals and iridescent pink pearls, inspired by the Spring 2004 collection, while the voluminous skirt, inspired by the Spring 1998 collection, delivered all the drama you would expect from a Betsey Johnson creation. The exaggerated proportions, gathered satin and sweeping train leaned into feminine fantasy, but I suspect many of you will immediately say that it resembles a prom dress.

Honestly, I completely agree, but I also think that is precisely the point. This is not pretending to be anything other than a sugary, unapologetically romantic ballgown that embraces the youthful spirit of both Lexi and the character she is about to introduce to a new audience. The abundance of pink, and the decorative details all feel intentionally heightened.

There is also a more personal element woven into the design. Hidden within the skirt is an embroidered red cardinal, included as a tribute to Lexi’s late grandmother, giving the gown an emotional significance beyond the visual spectacle.

Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

Premiere After-Party

Continuing the archival thread that has run throughout this press tour, Lexi changed into a vintage 1980s Guy Laroche dress for the after-party.

With its cape collar, exaggerated proportions and abundance of bows, this second look somehow feels more contemporary than the custom gown. The shorter silhouette, saturated pink colour and sculptural shape give it a playful quality that feels entirely at home within the Elle universe while also introducing a stronger fashion point of view.

I also love how the colourful Blue by Betsey Johnson Melodie platform sandals added even more personality.

Between the fairy-tale ballgown and the archival party dress, Lexi demonstrated two different interpretations of character dressing, and both felt perfectly suited to the world of Elle.
