Ayo Edebiri Wore Chanel Haute Couture To The ‘Proof’ Broadway Revival Opening Night
Ayo Edebiri attended the opening night of Proof on Broadway, held at the Booth Theatre in New York City.

With Chanel ambassadors Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie already leaning into sheer looks from Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Spring 2026 Haute Couture collection, there was a question of whether Ayo would follow suit.
She did – to a point – wearing a colourful mixed-media tulle dress with a sheer hemline that taps into her signature offbeat, intellectual style, and echoing the bolder Loewe looks she once favoured.
This piece is less about a single idea and more about surface interplay and fabrication. The feathered appliqué, scattered colour story, and uneven hemline give the dress a collage-like quality, as though multiple ideas are being explored at once.
The images from this event aren’t the strongest, but even so, I suspect the “throw colours and textures at a dress and hope it works” might be the opinion most will have ,and that this is unlikely to win people over.
On the plus side, she avoided those two-tone Chanel pumps, opting for simple sandals instead, which was a smart choice to keep the focus exactly where it should be – on the dress.
Stylist: Danielle Goldberg.
