Margot Robbie Wore Chanel Haute Couture To Tropfest 2026

Tropfest is Australia’s largest short film festival and, as a producer through her company LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie is serving as jury president, alongside Sarah Snook and Taron Egerton.

For the festival opening, the actress, who has been wearing a mix of historical, archival and modern looks on her Wuthering Heights press tour, opted for a design from a house she has long been aligned with as an ambassador: Chanel.

I know what you are thinking. Not another sheer dress.

But would I change your mind if I reminded you that it is currently summer in Sydney, as she stepped out in this Chanel Spring 2026 Haute Couture black chiffon look, detailed with pleated organza braiding and pearly jewelled buttons?

I didn’t think so.

Unlike the majority of you, I don’t hate this. I love how light and breezy it feels for summer, although, I suspect I would feel differently had the shorts been replaced with briefs or a thong.

My only real issue with this look is that it doesn’t immediately register as Haute Couture; the finish feels more ready to wear than atelier level.
