Selena Gomez Wore Prada To The Rare Beauty’s True To Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation Launch
Selena Gomez hosted yet another Rare Beauty event to celebrate the launch of the brand’s True To Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation, held at The West Hollywood EDITION on Thursday.

When I saw the actress in this pink Prada mini dress from the Spring 2026 collection, I have to admit I let out a sigh of disappointment. Why? Because I thought we had moved past this phase. She has been on such a consistent run of strong looks lately, and this feels like a step backwards.
The issue isn’t the Prada dress itself; it’s how it has been styled.
In its more straightforward form, this is a clean shift dress, and that simplicity would have worked in her favour. Instead, the added underlayer meant to echo the runway version disrupts the line of the dress and weighs it down. It takes what could have been a sharp, easy win and complicates it unnecessarily.

The result feels at odds with the direction she has been building. Where recent looks have felt so confident and refined, this reintroduces a slight awkwardness that we hadn’t seen in a while.
I can already see the conversation this look might spark, and there may be more context behind the choice. If there is, it will likely reveal itself in time. For now, taken at face value, this doesn’t land the way her recent run suggested it would.
Prada bow-accented pumps and EFFY Jewelry completed her look.
Stylist: Erin Walsh.
