Zendaya Wore Schiaparelli Haute Couture To ‘The Drama’ New York Premiere
Zendaya attended the New York premiere for The Drama on Thursday evening, and not only did we get the “something blue” we had been anticipating, but we also got a red carpet moment that lived up to the build-up.
What I especially love about this Schiaparelli Spring 2026 Haute Couture ball gown from The Agony & The Ecstasy collection is that, even with the “something blue” reference, the look is still unexpected. It delivers impact in a way that feels elevated and thought-through.
I will admit, I had a slight concern that we might get a blue dress in one of her familiar silhouettes, but this moulded bustier black ball gown, embroidered with a radial burst of kingfisher blue and black raw silk feathers in satin-stitch embroidery, completely shifts that expectation. The depth created by the 27 shades of blue is what makes this so striking – it draws the eye in and keeps it there. It’s a gown that rewards you the long and closer you look.
We wanted Zendaya and Law Roach to close this tour on a high, and they absolutely did. This is the kind of fashion moment that reminds you why their partnership works so well – it’s not just about the dress, it’s about the idea behind it and how it lands on the carpet.
Law Roach confirmed that Zendaya was also wearing Schiaparelli blue satin pumps enhanced with a hand-sculpted trompe l’œil bird’s head. Sadly, they’re hidden beneath the gown, but the Tiffany & Co. earrings in platinum with unenhanced sapphires more than hold their own, tying in seamlessly with the blue eye makeup. Everything feels in sync.
And there we have it.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
The concept, the execution, the finish – it all came together. And while I will always enjoy a long, globe-trotting press tour, this shorter run still managed to deliver a complete and satisfying fashion story.
