Anya Taylor-Joy Wore Jean Paul Gaultier To The Japanese Grand Prix

As we found out last year, Anya Taylor-Joy is a keen Formula One fan, with this being her fourth Grand Prix, following Hungary last year, and Monaco and Silverstone in years prior.

And as luck would have it, her Japan press tour fell on the same weekend as the Suzuka Circuit Japanese Grand Prix, where she and her The Super Mario Galaxy co-stars were also in attendance.

After going soft and ultra-feminine for the premiere in Dior, she completely switched gears – pardon the pun – opting for an all-leather look, wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 1991 leather top and Frame The Rodeo leather trousers.

This is exactly the kind of look the setting calls for. The corset-style top, with its bold panelling and exposed structure, brings a harder edge that feels right at home in the paddock without tipping into costume – something that hasn’t always been the case at Formula One events, as Jennifer Lopez’s vinyl catsuit at last year’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix showed.

Considering she was spotted in the paddock with Lewis Hamilton, the red accents running through the top, along with her Gianvito Rossi G-string sandals, read as a subtle nod to Ferrari, an easy reference that doesn’t feel forced.

Tiffany & Co. jewels and Jimmy Fairly The Emmy glasses completed her look.
