Caitríona Balfe Wore Louis Vuitton To The ‘Outlander’ Season 8 New York Premiere

Caitríona Balfe joined her co-star Sophie Skelton on the red carpet for the Outlander Season 8 world premiere in New York City on Monday night.

There is a lot to consider here. Caitríona is the leading lady, and this marks the final premiere of a series she has carried for nearly a decade.

While the Irish actress looks undeniably beautiful in this red silk and lace Louis Vuitton maxi slip dress, it does not quite rise to the occasion of such a significant farewell. The colour is striking, and the lace trim a delicacy to the fluid silhouette plus this is a refreshing change of pace for Nicolas Ghesquière, who often favours sharper, more sculptural lines.

However, this feels too intimate for a world premiere of this scale. The lingerie inspired aesthetic doesn’t give me closing chapter red carpet.

She looks absolutely stunning, and the shade against her porcelain complexion is flawless. I just expected a stronger statement, something with greater presence and finality.
