Maggie Gyllenhaal Wore Schiaparelli To ‘The Bride!’ London Premiere

Maggie Gyllenhaal, director of The Bride!, attended the film’s world premiere at Cineworld Leicester Square in London this evening where, as predicted, she wore black.

I am sure some of you are looking at her in this dress and noting that it is not identical to the Schiaparelli Fall 2023 keyhole gown from the look book. The emblematic code of the Maison has been reworked here, with the keyhole expanded, yet the essence of the design remains intact. The gathered folds still converge toward the centre, drawing the eye to the skin reveal, so the architectural tension and focal point that define the original remain in tact.

I remember when Dua Lipa wore this same dress on The Graham Norton Show back in 2024 and she also adjusted the keyhole. These adaptations feel less like reshaping the house signature and more about allowing breathing room.

This is very much what we expect from Maggie. She gravitates toward pieces with intellectual weight, and this dress aligns seamlessly with her style sensibilities both actress and director.
