Timothée Chalamet Commits To Givenchy Leather for ‘Marty Supreme’ Press Tour

Timothée Chalamet’s latest appearance in custom Givenchy by Sarah Burton confirms what we’ve all been clocking for a while now: this baggy leather chapter isn’t a one-off—it’s a full commitment. For Marty Supreme, the actor has tripled down on slouchy silhouettes, heavy leather textures, and an attitude-first approach that feels deliberately removed from the sharp tailoring many of us associate with his best style moments.

The look itself leans into that now-familiar formula: relaxed leather layers, volume through the legs, and Givenchy Cargo boots from the Fall 2026 collection anchoring everything with a chunky, almost industrial edge. It’s casual, a little confrontational, and very much in step with the character he’s promoting. Marty Supreme sees Timothée playing a hustler in the underground world of competitive ping-pong—a role that thrives on bravado, streetwise swagger, and a sense of rebellion. This wardrobe feels like an extension of that persona rather than a traditional press-tour look.

That said, I can’t help but miss the Timothée who thrived under Sarah Burton’s work at McQueen. Those sharply cut suits, narrow silhouettes, and slightly subversive tailoring gave him a visual identity that felt exciting and fashion-forward without losing refinement. Seeing Burton now dressing him at Givenchy makes the comparison inevitable, and it does leave me hoping this looser, leather-heavy direction is strictly tied to the film.

If we trace it back, this shift didn’t start here. Midway through A Complete Unknown, the pivot became clear—less precision, more attitude, fewer clean lines, more bulk. Whether this is a temporary character-driven phase or a longer-term evolution remains to be seen. For now, Timothée is clearly all in—and while it may divide opinion, it’s impossible to ignore.
