Jessie Buckley Wore Louis Vuitton To The ‘Hamnet’ Dublin Premiere

The press tour for Jessie Buckley’s Hamnet rolled into Dublin this weekend, marking a homecoming moment for the Irish actress.

If anyone was hoping this stop might signal a nostalgic return to a red carpet style from earlier this year, that was always wishful thinking. Jessie has committed fully to this pared-back direction, and there’s no detour in sight as we head steadily toward Oscar season.

She wore a black silk velvet bustier column gown from Louis Vuitton, and while this minimalist route has been divisive throughout the tour, this particular look landed well for me. A large part of that comes down to fabric. Velvet in fall will always get my attention, and this rich black version feels perfectly attuned to the season—luxurious, and plush.

The tulip sleeves are what seal it. They soften the severity of the column silhouette and add just enough interest to keep the look from slipping into forgettable territory. Had this been strapless or sleeveless, my enthusiasm would have dipped considerably.

Simple gold earrings finished the look. You may not love this era for her, but she’s clearly committed—and at least this chapter makes a strong case for itself.
