Ariana Grande Channels Vintage Glam on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
While Ariana Grande has reached the end of the yellow brick road when it comes to global premieres — Paris, London, Singapore and New York all ticked off — there’s still a sprinkle of TV magic left on the schedule.

Last night, she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she reminded everyone that she’s not just a singer, not just an actress, but also someone who can twirl a wand with surprising authority. Between demonstrating her fight-scene choreography and joining Jimmy for a musical medley featuring everything from Wicked to Little Shop of Horrors, it was a performance-heavy evening that matched the energy of this moment in her career.

For her wardrobe, Ariana reached once again into the archives, wearing a vintage gown from the 1930s, according to her stylist Law Roach. This choice extends her unofficial theme for the tail end of the press tour: black gowns with a touch of theatricality. If the New York premiere felt like a nod to Elphaba, this one makes the reference even clearer, thanks to the sweeping black silhouette and emerald embellishments. It’s dramatic without being costume-y, which has been the sweet spot of her recent style direction.

And yes — I can practically hear the collective sigh of relief that it isn’t pink. After such an intense Glinda-heavy first tour, it feels like Ariana and Law made a conscious decision to step away from all-pink-all-of-the-time theme. Law is known for leaning all the way into a theme (see: Zendaya’s Challengers tennis-core marathon), but he perhaps felt we had already been oversaturated with blush, fuchsia, and bubblegum since the start of the Wicked press tour back in January 2024.

Jimmy Choo Romy pumps and Swarovski jewels completed the look.
